hehe... I'd just like to know if there's a nice way to earn lots of money in the Forgotten realms relatively fast. The reason I'm asking is because me and my friend have decided to build a stronghold. It would cost a little over 100,000 GP. That's a lot. I would know if there is anything besides some insane amounts of monster-grinding that would help gather up the money. We are currently in Silverymoon and headed towards the whats-it-called desert to hunt down a brown dragon. I have a lvl 3 A-archer, 6 ranger, 1 wizard and my friend has a lvl 3 maester, lvl 6 wizard. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... if you had had a decently powerful mage, i'd cast a Wish to be teleported to the nearest lair of a dead(not undead) dragon, that was filled with lots of treasure(that you would find valuable).. more than you actually need by at least X amount, without anything there that would seriously threaten you, and in a place where you could get to and from, without too much inconvenience or a serious chance to get killed.

Low population of intelligent beings, out of the way, and unlikely to be found by anyone else who is likely to find the stuff there valuable, in the near future, might also be good constraints :)

Hmmm... i think i covered all the bases there... most of 'em anyway :)

... Technically that turns the Wish into a divination and teleportation... Overall though, the requirements you're putting on the Wish aren't too great.

Somehow i think that you(the character) should write the requirements on a paper and say straight out that you Wish for everything on the specific paper to effect you specifically(IMO turning it into one constraint for the Wish, instead of many.. with the one constraint having sub-parts :))

With that many constraints though a DM shouldn't be able to create immediate disasters for you(if you can make him allow the Wish)

.... How to actually get the Wish... find a suitable good, preferably LG mage somewhere, and tell him that you'll give him X amount of money in a certain amount of time, or a more than 50% share of what you get, if he'll cast the spell for you. (The good alignment reduces the chance of you being betrayed, or having info about your newly located lair stolen)

... If your spell does still get screwed though... you're gonna be in one serious debt :)

(i don't actually remember what the price for getting a Wish cast was.. though making him easily accept your request might require going over it)

Best have some good idea to kill the mage in that situation... though that can be a quest in itself, later if you're not immediately up to it :)

Heroes trying to get out of debt by killing the LG man who they owe money to... i like it :)

----------

Also, you could break that Wish in two, by first making a Wish mark a large well detailed map(that you got from somewhere), and then a second Wish to teleport you to the lair intended by the previous Wish when it marked the map(so that you don't go around in circles for a long time, never quite finding it)

Wish is an EXTREME spell and you will have HARD time finding someone willing to cast it for you, even for thousands of gold pieces.

You want to build a stronghold? Hmm....usually a merchant caravan carries goods for 10000 gp (according to power of faerun). Rob 6-7 caravans and you are ok.

100,000 gold, eh?

Well, you could ***** yourself out to ten-thousand chicks (or dudes if that's your preferance) for ten gold each, or, if you're really good, ten chicks/dudes for ten-thousand gold each. :D

This is what i ve done:
- a spell in Frostburn grants you a palace of ice
- then you have ready 2 items. Ice to flesh and flesh to stone.
- you must have help when creating this type of castle because the time you use must be restricted.

Make an amount of such bizzare castles and sell them to local guilts and bardic colleges who admire obscure architecture, or even a wealthy sorcERROR.As for the furniture use stone shape and fabricate spells.

Before you know it you made a good name in Faerun as an architecture and man of arts plus got the money you need!!!! :D

I'm pretty sure that spell is high level.

And you better be prepared to worship Auril.

Glorious kiesloth, Glorious!

I know i have been trying to think of ways to use that spell.. but you did it!

Btw my fav way to make castles is to simulcra a beholder, find some mountain and set it on carve-mode.. :D
And once the castle is ready, you have a fine door-guard.. better still when enchanted with hidelife..
