| Cunning Linguist06-17-04, 05:22 PM | As much as I want to, I find it hard to make "normal" adventures in a Arcane Age setting. There are towns here and there that would have a problem with a minor matter. But Netheril is like the Roman empire, so the population was basicly safe from most kinds of harm. However, a Epic level game could be sett in Arcane Age easy. Monsters from Epic Level Handbook fit perfectly in as something that could be a problem for the Empire of Netheril, yet they are not such a power that they could crush the empire if the PC's fail. |
| TheTWO06-17-04, 06:32 PM | if we play the early ages of netheril that might solve those problems huh? |
| Cunning Linguist06-17-04, 06:35 PM | it might, but then it would be really low magic. Just look at page 26 of Netheril: Empire of Magic and see how few spells where discovered. Magic items would also be really few and far between. Lots of Orcs there also.. |
| Mumm-Ra06-18-04, 06:28 AM | Hi! I am about to start a post-netheril campaign (i mean litterally 1 minute or so after the fall). The characters are scouts from shade enclave, who has plane shifted to the plane of shadow. From there, they will be sent to scout the plane, discover the truth about the fall, and build a proper empire in this dark plane, while fighting off the other power groups-shadar-kai (shadow fey), undead such as lich lords, nightshades, shadows, spectres, wraiths, as well as shadow giants, malaugrym, etc. And of course, as the players increse in power, they will have to face intrigue within their own home, as powerful shades will see the player's growth in might as a threat and seek to belittle them, or worse, destroy them if all else fails. |
