Are computer games considered canon? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-10-04, 06:24 AM Dont remember if that question was ever awnsered but are FR computer games (eye of beholder, BG, NWN) and their novels considered oficial canon?

officialy WOTC say that they are connon but every single source book totaly ignores them

05-10-04, 08:46 AM Yep, they and the novels that go along with them are generally ignored. *shrug* Usually the CRPGs for any world have plots that don't honestly concern themselves with any metaplots already extant in the world they're based in, nor do they assume a huge amount of player knowledge about that world. As such they usually aren't integreated into a setting as well as a module or a setting book would be, nor is it easy to bring them back into the fold, so to speak.

Kuje ... while this is off topic and thus I am in need of a "Sorry Big Sis" ... you could add a line about Orcus' return to the Realms in your thingy as well, hopefully a very objective one.

Done. :) It's near the top of my thread. Any questions, comments..... :) This was the type of question I was looking for when I posted my thread that is on the main FR boards that only one person has even bothered to answer. :)
