Are there any major holidays in FR? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-06-07, 03:52 PM I have read most of the novels in the FR series and have had a little experience with the campaign sourcebooks. That being said, I don't really remember coming across any major holidays in the realms.

I know that Thay won't celebrate the same things as Baldur's Gate but I can't believe that each region doesn't have its own annual festivals.

If anybody knows of any I would pleased to know time, location, and reason behind it. Celebrations would be hard to DM but offer up a change to the local town dynamic.

01-06-07, 08:10 PM We know of many: Faerūnwide festivals such as Midwinter, the equinoxes, and Shieldmeet; widespread religious festivals (described in the Faiths & Avatars books); local secular festivals (scattered throughout many sources). Alaundo and I have talked about updating the listing Faraer mentioned above, and I'm currently in the process of doing so. It will be updated mostly with references taken from Ed's replies at Candlekeep.
