toupsz 06-20-05, 11:12 AM	Hey all, I'm currently running an FR campaign and am still trying to work out what the over-arching plotline will be. I'd like to run a game centered around collecting pieces of a broken/disassembled artifact, but I don't know of any for FR. I've been told that the Rod of Seven Parts would be good, but that doesn't interest me (and, from what I can tell, the only info on that is from 1e). Are there any good mechanical and/or draconic artifacts for the realms out there? -Zach
Kuje31 06-20-05, 11:34 AM	There's a whole box set adventure from 2e around the Rod of Seven Parts actually. :) But as for your idea, hmmm it could be anything. Maybe someone wants to remake the Scepter of Sorcerous Kings, or the Arm of Valor, which we just discussed in another thread on the FR boards, or make up an item that would work for what ever purpose you want it to. :)
Lashan 06-20-05, 12:16 PM	I agree with making something up yourself. How about the wicked Blood Sword of Tazz'mur? Or the Iron Crown of Lendoris? Trident of the Lightless Depths? Does someone dare assemble the Brass Rod of Immolation? If you didn't want to get TOO creative, you could always do something like the Hand of Shoon or Eye of Shoon (and transplant it from Greyhawk's Vecna).

FineasBoggs 06-21-05, 02:40 PM	Finding the pieces of the Arm of Valor sounds like a good idea. You can even have pieces stolen from time to time by various nefarious groups.

The Arm is from Ruins of Myth Drannor box set. Warlocko converted it earlier last week in the Combat, Arms, and Armor board here on the FR boards.
Zevox 06-21-05, 04:43 PM	What about the seven Imaskarcana? Seven powerful magical artifacts of an ancient empire, scattered to the corners of Faerūn, and perhaps beyond. Two are detailed in Lost Empires of Faerūn, but I don't know if anything specific on the others exists. That'd give you a chance to design them yourself, however. :) Th only problem being that, since each is an artifact unto itself, you can use each as you find them, rather than needing all of them (the pieces you wanted) to make them work. Of course, there are ways to alter that if you really want to, but I'll leave that up to your imagination. ;) Zevox

IMC now we are hunting 'Ioulaum's Rod' (what it does, exactly, the PC's (meaning me) don't know yet. But it's great fun making them and then you can make whatever story you want to go with it and your campaign, having the PC's go where you want them to, etc.

My brain isn't working to well yet. I just woke up. :) Not sure on free pdf's or hyperlinked one but if there is they are illegal. :)

Purple Dragon Knight 06-22-05, 12:58 PM	Two suggestions to the original poster: 1. Wyrmskull Throne: underwater adventure that's easily adaptable to 3E (just change all monsters to 3E monsters that are roughly equivalent) 2. This month's issue of Dragon has a full blown article on the "Relics of Faerun"... this would be perfect for your campaign.
