| Delzounblood09-12-06, 04:45 PM | OK I have asked and posted threads on these but you asked so: 1: Dwarven Knights. Info on any you know of please. 2: Any info of on the Kingdom of Delzoun. 3: Any info on everything to do with Dwarves for my book. 4: Any info on sossal. 5: Any maps of the underdark (as it stretches from Skullport to Vassa how do the tunnels pan out) err thats all for now but I'm sure I'll find some more for the most "learned one" :D :D I mean it thanks if you can help! |
| Sirnightwraith09-12-06, 05:32 PM | #1)Dwarves: They are naturally dense, compact creatures. They stand no taller than 4 to 4 and a half feet, but they have the breadth and depth of creatures nearly twice their height. Both males and females are heavily muscled, with thick, well-rounded limbs and and broad shoulders and hips. They believe in simple functional clothing without a great deal of ornamentation. they tend towards tones of brown and grey, usings fabrics derived from the earth itself. Those who encounter them for the first time might think then rude , dour , taciturn, and inflexable, but in truth this is a deceiving look. They are just very kin and society orientated and are not adept with dealing with outsiders. A dwarf can become one of the staunchest allies you could ever gain. As you no doubt know they are some of the finest smiths to ever grace the realms and a lot of their culture centers around this craft. And they turn out some of the finest masterwork items to be had. Love: Love is considered one of the great virtues of dwarven life.Love for family love for honor, love for clan and country- these are considered the finest motivations a dwrf can have. Death: death holds little fear for dwarves. They are well accustomed to the struggle of life and the inevitable loss that awaits them all. Still anyone who calls dwarves fatalistic in this respect would have missed an essential part of the dwarven character: the joy they take in that daily struggle. the cornerstone of dwarf society is its sense of community. The traditions that dwarves hold dear, and the virtues that guide them, are anchored in a rich culture that that calls on family, civic, and religious ties to bind the dwarf people together. Anything more particular you want to know about dwarves in geaneral? |
| Sirnightwraith09-12-06, 06:04 PM | Under the Nether, Rauvin, Ruathym, and Ice Mountains and ther valleys inbetween, the mighty dwarven kingdom of Delzoun stood. It fell soon after Netheril inundated in the greatest outpouring of orcs ever seen in the North. The Silver Marches are built over the ruins where Delzoun once stood. The ruined dwarven city of Ascore on the border of Anauroch was once the gateway to Delzoun.Witch was a rich seaport on the long-vanished Narrow-Sea. Delzoun was a powerful Dwarven Kingdom in the North. Some of Delzouns prominent cities were: Mithril Hall, Citadel Adbar, and Citadel Felbarr. These three are either now in dwarven hands again, or never fell.Other strongholds of Delzoun have been held by orc tribes for centuries. In -3419 the Netherese approached the dwarves of Delzoun at Ascore to conduct trade. After three years of deliberation, they set up a trade route through the safest and most heavily patroled sections of the underdark. In -100(the year of the black unicorn) Delzoun fell to encroaching phaerimm and other dangers. The surface citadels survived. Thats about all I know I'm sure i can find more if you have spacific needs. |
| Sirnightwraith09-12-06, 06:16 PM | A remote realm far to the north of Narfell , Sossal has little contact with the rest of Faerun. Once or twice a year (usually in the summer) visitors from Sossal arrive in Damara , bringing furs, seal meat from The Great Glacier, beautiful items of shaped wood ,and gold. They leave with dwarven weapons, silver, and various kinds of meat to trade with people of the Great Glacier. Some Sossrim have powers akin to druidic magic and can bend plants to their will, pass through graowth impenetrable to others, or even transport themselves from one tree to another. In fact the ornate and smoothly shaped Sossar furniture sold so steeply in Sembia is not carved at all, but sculpted by the minds of Sossrim "carvers". |
| Sirnightwraith09-12-06, 06:18 PM | Take one dwarf, apply Knight class. Do you need the stats for a Knight? |
| Delzounblood09-13-06, 12:14 PM | Re the info on Dwarves and Delzoun. I am putting together a book I have a good amount of info already, I was looking for more detailed info or list of old sources books maybe, even some of your ideas. Sossal : so nothing apart from FRCS then... If you know of any published known dwarvern knights then info on the brotherhood if you can find that! But thanks all the same |
| Fabius Maximus09-13-06, 01:36 PM | You did this wrong. You should have posted every D&D source book ever printed and said: "Before asking questions, find the answers yourself!" The FR boards would be dead if this happened, though... :twitch: |
| od_vjesala09-13-06, 01:58 PM | Info on sossal can be found also in 2nd ed books: -Dwarves Deep (clan Dareth lore) -Old Empires(not sure about anything else, but you can find info on Narfell that you must find useful) -And maybe in Giantcraft |
