I'm assembling a party for a delve into the Underdark. The characters should expect to be down there for over a year without coming back to the surface.

I'm looking for a good balance of interesting characters, tough but not necessarily uber munched. They should be 15th level give or take one. (not too many 16th).

Here's what I've got so far:

-Human Fighter 1 / Wizard 5 / Ramathri Battlemage 8 / Havoc Mage 1 -Magic and HTH

-Human ?? Rogue 1 / Cleric of Grumbar (Time and Metal) 1 / Fighter 6 / Exotic Weapon Master 2 / Pious Templar 4 -Expert with a Maul, sunder, cleave and such.

-Human ? Marshal 8 / Fighter 2 / Cleric of Mask (Luck and Darkness) 1 / Rogue 4 -Combat and Travelling leader

-?? Healer 7 / Cleric of Torm 1 (Healing and Protection) / ????

-Human Rogue 5 / Fighter 2 / Telfammar Shadow Lord 6 -Scout and Sneak Attacker

-1/2 Orc Ranger 3 / Fighter 2 / Orc Scout 5 / OOBI 5?? -Scout and Archer

Any suggestions on the other 4 members of the party or on how to finish the above members???

Darkvision- the half orc will be fine, but those humans are either wandering in the dark or a big, brightly lit target. I would add some dwarves and a gnome too. They are all far, _far_ underground, after all.

;)

Peace and cookies.

Thats a whole lot of multiclassing! I'd suggest taking out the levels that are just one level dips, like the fighter level on the mage and the cleric level on the marshal. One level dips are kind of cheesy and its usually don't add enough to make it worth putting off a level of the main class. I'd suggest:

Wizard/Battlemage
Fighter/Cleric/Templar
Marshal
Healer
Rogue/Shadow Lord (/Fighter if needed to become Shadow Lord)
Ranger/Orc Scout

And you need 4 more ideas? Thats a lot of players! Try:
Monk, any race
Bard, gnome
Wizard (Diviner)/Loremaster, elf
Wizard/Fighter/Arcane Archer, elf

Darkvision - I'd planned on the humans using magic.

One level dips - These are mostly related to the character's history and concept. I agree that the abilities don't offset the lower main class level, but they do add diversity and redundancy to the party.

4 more guys - I don't have a situation where I can play the game much. This is more of an exercise for me to keep me in touch with the game. So 10 characters is fine because it doesn't mean 10 players.

More suggestions???

I would suggest another mage. Maybe something along the side of a drow perhaps? Or a plane touched. Unfortunately, I don't know everthing about a few of those classes you have but you can never have enough magic. I would also reccomend Darkvision (as you stated already) and Improved Invisibility scrolls / spells. Lots of them The drow are so magical in nature, if this is the main enemy your PC's will go up against, that having a PC with high enough magic to overcome their SR becomes extremely important. Additionally though, they can cast Identify if a new magic item is found or potions need to be identified. Also get healing although the Ranger can use divne wands with spells on his spell list (i.e. Cure Light Wounds). Sounds like fun. Have you heard of "City of the Spider Queen"? If not check it out. Good gaming.

Goggles of Night. They only cost 8,000gp. Should be easy to obtain for 15th level characters. :)

Figure out the background of the group (they sound kind of eastern) and add characters as appropriate.

You need another arcane caster, I would suggest a Diviner or a Conjurer type. The Battlemage would be good if you keep his focus on attack magic. The orc scout is also a good move, to see whats ahead. A shadow dancer level wouldn't be too bad to add to him just for the hide in plain sight. Also you need a face maybe a prime underdark guide, if you hope to survive in a city you gotta know the customs of these evil races, living in the wild for one year would be tough. A drow rogue/ranger/prime underdark guide, or a duegar of the same could be a huge help as the face.

That's.... that's a pretty hefty multiclass thing you've got going there.

I recommend perhaps a more "focused" sort of PC.

If you're just going for a grab-bag of powers, then by all means, just look at the tactical gaps.
