Hmmm....

I don't think TSR/WOTC has ever made any of the FR books as audiobooks....

Many of R.A. Salvatore's FR novels are available in audiobook format. Go to Amazon.com and do a search for "Salvatore, audio books" and you'll find several. I'm not sure if any of Greenwood's novels are in audio format, but it would not surprise me if some were.

I personally wouldn't buy them on CD, and I'm not sure many would. I do agree they should put them on CD, but I think they should for the visually challenged. Unfortunately, WotC is a business and they are out to make money, so I wouldn't hold my breathe... *sigh. Now that I think about it, maybe there's a company out there that takes books and puts them in braille? Maybe you can ask them to put a book in braille, and they do it for you and send it to you for a fee. That would be nice.

10-20-05, 12:31 AM I believe there are some companies out there that are specifically for the blind that put books on tape. You can't get the audiobooks unless you are blind, so people can't abuse the system and just get audiobooks to have them hehe. I'm not sure what any of them are, but I do believe there are some out there. I'm not sure if they make deals with various book companies, or if they just have a charity-like situation where they are donated books and have people donate their time to read them and record the reading. But I think if you look hard enough, you might be able to find some DnD novels in audio format.

As for some updates ... most books and magazines can be converted to braille -- but unless any of you have actually sat down and tried to read in braille - let's just say it's rather difficult and time consuming. I thought that audio books might give some piece of mind and relaxation. You all have provided some very valuable insight and input and I really do appreciate you taking the time to comment on this subject. It is very near and dear to my heart.
