| Ellanon04-06-05, 05:24 PM | Does anyone still use it (for 3e/3.5)? If so, I want to know what your conversions have come out to. I am attempting to go page by page in my copy and handwrite in what I think would be proper 3e/3.5 bonuses with proper bonus types, etc. Also, would it be appropriate to post the item's info here so that we may have a clear debate on the adjustments or would that get me in trouble? (It has NOT been released in the archives by WotC, so it is not public.) |
| Kuje3104-06-05, 05:27 PM | Of course I still use it. :) But I don't think that there's much that needs changed..... |
| Ellanon04-06-05, 07:39 PM | Of course I still use it. :) But I don't think that there's much that needs changed..... Ok, how do you convert something that says a +2% to Hide in Shadows? |
| warlockco04-06-05, 10:34 PM | Ok, how do you convert something that says a +2% to Hide in Shadows? Generally percentages converted to D20 are +1 per +5%. At least that is the formula I use in most cases. |
| Cole Deschain04-07-05, 01:53 AM | If it's under 5%, I still add +1. It's not like it's going to woefully unbalance the game. I usually round up. Great book, by the way. Mine's all dog-eared. |

Only problem I have is, the old pricing system and the new pricing system don't mix quite right. So hard to price things at times. |
| Ellanon04-07-05, 09:35 PM | Only problem I have is, the old pricing system and the new pricing system don't mix quite right. So hard to price things at times. Anything in particular that I should be aware of? I have not paid attention to the pricing as I am still in the planning stages of my campaign. |
| Kuje3104-07-05, 09:47 PM | Anything in particular that I should be aware of? I have not paid attention to the pricing as I am still in the planning stages of my campaign. Electrum pieces. :) They are gone in 3/3.5. Yeah it's not that big of a deal but just be aware of it. |
| BHC_Crow04-07-05, 09:58 PM | I still use the Aurora's Catalog. and just make the adjustments on the fly. But ill be !@#@ if my best friend after all these years still isnt trying to buy that drow swim ware. |
| Ellanon04-08-05, 12:09 AM | Electrum pieces. :) They are gone in 3/3.5. Yeah it's not that big of a deal but just be aware of it. Electrum, those are 0.50 GP, right? That should be easy to convert... |
| Kuje3104-08-05, 12:22 AM | Electrum, those are 0.50 GP, right? That should be easy to convert... Nod nod. :) It was the pieces between silver and gold. |
| Ellanon04-08-05, 12:43 AM | Well, I don't have a problem with adding Electrum. I'll just make it rare. PP 1 GP 10 EP 50 SP 100 CP 1000 Right? |
| Oluevara04-08-05, 12:52 AM | Weren't PP equal to 5GP in 2e instead of 10GP? Might want to adjust orices accordingly. |
| Kuje3104-08-05, 01:00 AM | Weren't PP equal to 5GP in 2e instead of 10GP? Might want to adjust orices accordingly. Not that I recall. But looking it up you are right. :) 500CP = 50SP = 10EP = 5GP = 1PP |

| Ellanon04-08-05, 01:07 AM | Not that I recall. But looking it up you are right. :) 500CP = 50SP = 10EP = 5GP = 1PP No worries. I don't think that difference is going to be enough to break things. =) |
| Oluevara04-08-05, 01:22 AM | Not that I recall. But looking it up you are right. :) 500CP = 50SP = 10EP = 5GP = 1PP after 4+ years of 3-3.5e, i just figured this out tonight. Poor characters cheated out of money by their stupid player :weep: |
| bobsan04-08-05, 05:13 PM | Aurora's is something I love using for any of my D&D games. and my player's lvoe the book as well (They all have electronic versions of it as well). Sometimes they're like kids looking at a christmas catalog. ^_^ Probably one of my most favorite pieces of fluff for the Realms ever (As well as a great equipment book) |
| arrianna04-11-05, 10:29 AM | I still use it, but only the avatar of Velsharoon has one. He owns a magic shop in Waterdeep and looks like a blond 6 yr old boy (think Anakin in pahntom menace). It's his subtle way of contacting possible future liches. It's very disturbing when the players realize he's a far more powerful caster than they are, and they just asked him to go get his daddy. |
| Ellanon04-11-05, 12:20 PM | I still use it, but only the avatar of Velsharoon has one. The avatar of Velsharoon has what? |
| arrianna04-11-05, 12:48 PM | The avatar of Velsharoon has what? Aurora's catalog, in his magic shop. |
| Ellanon04-11-05, 12:51 PM | Aurora's catalog, in his magic shop. I guess I am a little lost and don't get the significance of that. Aurora has several (6 if I remember correctly) of her own shops in Waterdeep already and her catalog should be widely distributed around the city. |

If a PC wants a specific item that isn't readilt available in another shop (I determine availability randomly based on city size and demographic), I make the RP with an avatar, just for giggles. |
