Baldur's Gate is rife with potential source material, background for NPC's, the Flaming Fists(the ultimate fighting force in the realms). They have engaged in colonial endeavours in Chult and Maztica. I personally would love to see a supplement devoted to Baldur's Gate. |

I hate those games. Theyre pointless. Theyre wrong. 40 monk having SR30 is really really funny and ridiculus. Go with IWD, for the BG series suck. |
| Kuje3112-12-03, 01:32 PM | Some of these were written up in the old material. The Flaming Fist is in the Gold & Glory sourcebook. FR Adventures has two pages on BG, plus there is more info in some of the other sourcebooks. |

Off. I have to highly disagree that the series sucks though. It's good roleplaying (at some points slightly railroaded, but I believe life is railroaded sometimes). Besides, did IWD let you talk to and/or develop relationships with your party members? I don't think so. If you have anything else that is "wrong" with the game, do tell. I'm interested, and would enjoy a good debate. As for a supplement.... I'm game, as long as it doesn't say anything like "It has to be like it was in the novels" or "all the Bhaalspawn except Abdel are dead". Besides, that would involve killing one of my PCs if that were true...... One thing though: It wasn't acctually the CITY of "Baldur's Gate" making the colonies, it was more Amns work. How about a scourcebook about the area of Baldur's Gate, Amn, and Tethyr? |

Well that is most likely how a sourcebook with the bhaalspawn would be written since it would tie in with the novels. :) Why would you have to kill off a PC though? Unless you run FR strictly by official canon material....... If not then you can ignore any and every thing that comes out in FR sourcebooks. |

Man, killing the bhaalspawns after the first was a hard mouse hitting game man! zillions of regenerated or pesurrested or even created people plus a fire giant. Falling fireballs which could make you lose the game for making a coffe break. And in BGII, i reallly got bored after the third chapter, first and second were good, but rest, err, plus i hate 2ED rules ;) plus, i hate game which i finish in 3 days (BGII: ToB) and games which i fail to finish in three moths (BGII) |
| Lashan12-12-03, 04:36 PM | I don't believe the original poster was refering to the computer games at all. I think that Baulder's Gate would be a good place for a setting. Wasn't it detailed in a Volo's Guide booklet? I am pretty sure it was listed in Volo's Guide to the North. I could be wrong, though. Also, there was an organization set in Baulder's Gate that was on a web supplement. It was called the Silver Spike (or something close). It was in the web articles about werewolves. The Circle of Velsomethingorother. It talked about a group of selunites who hunted down evil were creatures. I thought it was a good group and wouldn't mind putting it in one of my games. The info in the Forgotten Realms Adventure book is also a good amount of info. |
