Bane's story [Archive] - Wizards Community

A friend of mine told me that there's pocket book about bane's ascend as a god. The book is suppose to describe his life as mortal and how he transformed into a god. Does anyone know the name of the book? if it existes...

03-30-06, 06:30 PM To my knowledge, there is no such thing (but if it exist, I MUST have it :P)...You could read Stormlight...there some info on Bane in it...

03-31-06, 01:00 AM Do you mean an actual, real-world published book, or an 'in game' book (such as Sammaster's Tome of the Dragon) that a PC could find?

03-31-06, 02:27 AM In Stormlight it mentions (briefly) that Bane grew up on a world very different from Faerūn. It doesn't say what world he came from nor really anything about it. I assume from that passage that Bane must have been a planewalker or was at least brought through a portal to Faerūn from another planet.

Likely candidates for Bane's homeworld are: Oerth, Athas, or Ortho. Possibly also Earth or Krynn. We may never know the secret, but I for one would be very interested in a novel that touched on the life, ascension and recent resurrection of Bane.

But anyway, I'm going to take a look in Stormlight and hope one day they make a full book about Uncle Bane.

It also mentions that he's actually plagued by feelings of angst and shame and that this is the reason why he strives to dominate others. He seems to be the typical bully whose tough behavior comes from low self-esteem.

Maybe your frend was thinking of Cyric? In which case, the Avatar series cover his life as a mortal, his ascencion to godhood and his struggles against his fellow deities:.
