Barbarians in the Reamls [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-01-03, 04:22 AM The 1st edition FR box set, mentions Moore barbarians, Forest Barbarians, Ride Brabarians etc.

To my knowledge i found no other sources of such tribes in any other products.

Can someone please shed some light into this

07-01-03, 09:08 AM Eeeeeh... I'm not entirely sure what you're going at, but I think the 3E FRCS should hold what you seek. It certainly lists the different cultures of Faerūn that are likely to produce members of the barbarian class.

07-01-03, 09:15 AM They weren't tribes but rather terrain types for the barbarian class. The terrain type determined the barbarian's skills (of course, this was in the dim dark days before skills or even proficiencies).

The 3E FRCS lists areas barbarians are most likely to come from.

Horse Barbarians - Found north of the Moonsea, in the steppeland and the area known as isthe Ride.

Moor Barbarians - Found in the High Moors and that Immediate area, and make their living without large beasts.

This is specificly naming regions not just terrain types, so what i want to know is is there ny other mention of these barbarian types or is this non-cannon now

07-02-03, 02:51 AM Well, for information about the Horse Barbarians I believe you can check through some of the old 2nd edition material such as Warriors and Priests of the Realms and even the FRCS Boxed Set for stuff of on the Eraka (from the Ride) and the Nars (from Narfell). Other than that, The Horde Campaign Boxed Set details the Tuigan hordes which are possibly the most famous of the Horse Barbarians. Hope that helps.
