Now i have to ask cuz i cant find it anywhere. How do you become a lich, all i know is you need to have a caster lvl = to 11, and you need to make a jar thing to put your esens in. But is the proses of becoming one just up to the DM?

You could use the info from 2e's Lords of Darkness, it details the ritual. Or also some of the old Ravenloft sourcebooks from 2e does also. Van Ricten's Guide to Liches probably has one or two different ways to accomplish it.

Hee hee, sorry, I don't really have anything helpful to contribute, but I can't help it, I have to point it out... ( I do that...)

The word is spelled Lich, just so you know man ;)

the "jar thing" that the lich puts its essence into is called a phylactery.
i don't know much about the rituals or how they put their essence into the phylactery, but i do know that becoming a mortal becoming a lich (or a lich becoming a demilich, cam't remember which) involves taking the souls of at least 8 innocent people and putting them into gems. probably part of becoming a demilich, but I know it has something to do with liches.

The ritual is also posted in a old Dragon. It involves a evil potion, made from really evil components..

The process for becoming a Lich is described on page 168 in the 3.5 Monster Manual, or page 217 in the 3.0 MM.

Or I could just quote the 3.5 SRD:
THE LICH’S PHYLACTERY
An integral part of becoming a lich is creating a magic phylactery in which the character stores its life force. As a rule, the only way to get rid of a lich for sure is to destroy its phylactery. Unless its phylactery is located and destroyed, a lich reappears 1d10 days after its apparent death. Each lich must make its own phylactery, which requires the Craft Wondrous Item feat. The character must be able to cast spells and have a caster level of 11th or higher. The phylactery costs 120,000 gp and 4,800 XP to create and has a caster level equal to that of its creator at the time of creation. The most common form of phylactery is a sealed metal box containing strips of parchment on which magical phrases have been transcribed. The box is Tiny and has 40 hit points, hardness 20, and a break DC of 40. Other forms of phylacteries can exist, such as rings, amulets, or similar items.
