Hello,
I'm a new D&D and Forgotten Realms DM. I need some suggestions like:

1) Can the Mithal be "puted" in itens to create high potent magical devices?

I'm asking this because my Campaign will be focused in some itens that the characters will discover.

I was thinking to start at the Dalelands and create a conflict with the Drow of House Jaeldre.

2) I know that Drizzt is active in the Sword Coast but can i use him in the Shieldmeet of the Dalelands?

Since i'm a begginer, i'll appreciate your help.

Thank you!!

I'm not entirely sure what the mythal is, but as far as I know the elven high magic used to create most mythals is tied to the weave and a specific place. These creations are not easily moved and it's their bond to the location that keeps their magic flowing over the centuries.

mithals are powerful magic that are not protable so putting them on items wouldnt work.

also characters like dizzt are best when used in the appropriate settings because it keeps their prescence important. If you just have them show up wherever if detracts from the continuity of the area. however there is no rule againts it and if this would make your game more intersting or your players happy you can. but i would caution againts overuse. beside if all the interesting realms characters came to the players neck of the woods what motivation would they have to explore more of the world.

Are you sure he does not mean Mitheral? (youknow, the exstra hard, but super light material that makes great armor)

A Mythal is something that covers a large area, so it would not work to put "in" a item, but you can link them up to one.

Drizzt might show up.. but how about Jezz the Lame?

In fact, you could create a Non Player Character (NPC), such as a Shadovar Mage from Anourach, that created a spell to steal away magic from Mythals and put it in magic items. Maybe he’s decided to sell his new spell to the Drow in and around Myth Drannor in exchange for aid in recovering lost artifacts within the city?

I (as a Dungeon Master) would do something like adding Drizzt to my game only if it furthered the campaign in some way: Such as Drizzt helping the party as “extra muscle;” by hooking him into the story (perhaps he’s traveled all this way because he wants to find out who stole power from Silverymoon’s Mythal); or both.

Good luck!

In the corebook FR, the Galath's Roost is not very defined. So i wanted to start the Campaign there.

The Roost is a place used by Jezz to group evil humanoids with the objective to attack the dalelands and distract his real lust: Cormanthor.

The players were going to the Shieldmeet and stop in Ashaben Ford, Mistledale. There they will meet Drizzt who quotes them about Galath's Roost (and i dont know why!!).

Drizzt cant go there because he recived an mysterious invite to join the Shieldmeet.

In Gallath's they will meet lots of goblinoids and some driders, friends of Jezz and enemies of Loth.

My initial ideas are very primitive and i must confess that i'm having lots of difficult to star.

In Galath's they will find the "mithal" itens and start a Campaign.

There are only a few Mythals in the realms, and they all have great danger around them..

Like Myth Drannor and Myth Lharast. These are not things you put into your world without thinking long and hard about it.

Second of all, a Mythal is not a item, its a permanent magical effect.
For info about mythal powers, read up on Cormanthyr, you can download it from here (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr1165.zip)

I would strongly encourage not using Drizzt, and instead using a ranger from the area. There are certainly enough characters from the Dalelands area that you could even use one of the Knights of Myth Drannor, or someone who is from the area instead of bringing Drizzt in for such a task. You only need a character to pass along the information, why do you feel the need for it to be Drizzt (not saying there is no good reason, just trying to understand your reasoning.)

Don't worry about being a beginner, we've all been there. I started with simple dungeon crawls and worked my way up. ;)

My suggestion, if you want an iconic character involved, would be to use Dove Falconhand rather than Drizzt. She may not be as well known in terms of novels, but she would leave an impression none the less! :D

Remember Drow are generally distrusted and in an area like the Dales might even be attacked on sight. But that's my impression of the area, since the Cormanthor Drow are likely to affect public opinion.
