Is it possible to break a door or dig a hole in a wall/floor with weapons?

If yes, a door could have the best lock or be made from diamond, but with a
little time it will be open or bypassed by digging another "door" in the
wall/floor...

with enough time you could bypass anything. the promblem with this plan is attracting the creatures inside the place.
takeing an axe to a door ar a war hammer to a wall makes alot fo noise and alot of time instead of picking the lock.

If you're trying to get through a stone wall with an axe, I'd say no. If you're trying to get through a steel door with an axe, it's still no (unless the axe is magical, perhaps). If you're trying to get through a wooden door with a dagger, I'd say no.

It all depends on the situation.

Hope you're not doing this during rounds because they will be there all day basically depending upon substance and weapons.

Two words: adamantine greataxe.

Better off with an adamantine warhammer, or some other blunt weapon I'd think... better chance of busting the hinges would be my reasoning there though. Door might be unbreakable, but maybe the frame and/or hinges aren't quite as invulnerable as the door itself. Kinda depends though... strength of the one doing the busting would be pretty important.

Acid on the hinges???? Than a quick hard blow with a mace or warhamer...?

Adamantine greataxe... take a chop at a solid rock with an axe. See what happens. You cannot chop stone with an axe, whatever the material.

Hmmmm.....

And how many Magical Adamantium Greataxes do you have in your collection?

Or are you a lumberjack-mason of some sorts?

If that was directed at me, magic was never mentioned above. A pickaxe could do it, but an axe I believe wouldn't work from a mechanical point of view. Anyway, why would adventures try to dig through the ground with weapons!? It's obvious the DM doesn't want them to bypass it!

DM - The room is a 15 by 15 feet. It looks like an old mine.
Player - Right, this probably means we've got to dig through the wall.

It has been my experience that anytime PCs pick up that a DM does not want them to do something, they will make every effort to do it. lol

Isn't this why we have rules for substance hardness and such?

Right. A pick can't bypass the DR of stone normally, the system favors not actually mining.

Stone to mud though, seems much easier than hacking at a wall for a couple of days.
