Ed Greenwood's "Shadow of the Avatar Trilogy," which consists of "Shadow's of Doom," "Cloak of Shadow," and "All Shadows Fled." Paul Kemp's "Erevis Cale Trilogy" indirectly involves the scheming of Mask against Cyric, but the gods are much less present than in either the Avatar Trilogy or the Shadow of the Avatar Trilogy. The "Priest Series" might also serve you. Not sure of all those titles, though.
