If you've not read Azure Bonds or the rest of The Finder's Stone trilogy, read no further!

Spoilers!

Okay, so we know Alias is a construct, and that there were twelve duplicates of her.

On pages 363 thru 364 of Azure Bonds, some of the Alias duplicates are described: a Mulhorandi warrior, one from the far north, a Waterdhavian courtesan, a Moonshae druid, one with eastern weapons and clad entirely in black (a ninja?), and a cleric of Tymora (Zhara, perhaps?).

The Wyvern's Spur introduces us to two more: Jade More, a thief, and Cat of Ordulin, a mage.

Song of the Saurials introduces another Alias duplicate, Zhara, a Turmish cleric of Tymora. On page 193, five of the duplicates are mentioned: a sage in Candlekeep, a mage in Immersea (Cat), an eastern warrior (the possible ninja), a thief who was murdered (Jade More), and a "lady of some power in Waterdeep" (the courtesan?).

That leaves some of the duplicates undescribed...

To the best of my knowledge, Alias is the only one to receive a full write-up, crunch and all. Her ability scores are all 17s.

I did some searching on these forums, and found a couple of people who mentioned using the Alias duplicates. Kuje31, in the Best way to start a Campaign (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144257) thread, mentions a male version of Alias.

Lilea, in the Favorite FR Characters (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58939&perpage=30&pagenumber=2) thread, says "Liked her so much I have all 12 of her sisters statted in my campaign."

So, does anyone else have Alias duplicates in their campaigns? Care to share? I'm particularly interested to know if people using the duplicates kept the straight 17s or powered the scores down a bit. I can see going either way on that one...

I didn't use the straight 17's because the PC was alrdy created and I just wrote his background into the game after he started adventuring. :)

However, if I had planned it better and if he meets Alias i'll probably keep it the way her write up is.

Eric Boyd and Tom Costa wrote them up here:

i haven't statted them out(have been tempted on more than one occassion though, so i will be watching this space with interest)

if i were to stat them, i would probably adjust them to match (approximately) the bonuses granted in 2e. in 2e to get any real bonus you needed a minimum of 15, more like 17 for a significant benefit. 3e has altered the parameters dramatically, so the stats should drop, if only slightly.

so str would drop to 12-13(17 ='d +1 to hit and damage)
dex14-17(could go either way, IIRC there were seperate bonuses for AC/ ranged to hit)
con16-17(+3hp/lvl)

or maybe average it out to about 14-15 across the board.

they may not be 100% accurate, it's been over 3 years since i looked at 2e stat blocks, which is why i also skipped mental stats.

http://www.ericlboyd.com/dnd/realms_bestiary_v1.pdf.zip sorry for the double post, but i tried accessing that link, down loaded fine, but couldn't read it. Kuje, are you aware of a version of that in a different format?

Do you have the newest updated Acrobat Reader or software? 6.0? It works fine for me on on that version of Reader.

Kuje31, thank you for that link. I d/l'ed the file, and immediately scanned thru the section on the Alias vessel template. Truly nifty!

the_heart, I was able to read it fine... I, too, have Acrobat Reader 6.0. Try upgrading to that.

If that doesn't work, Reader 6 can create a text (WordPad or Notepad) file from the pdf. I could e-mail you the conversion...

According to the template, all Alias vessels have beginning scores of 17. That answers one question...

So, anyone else have Alias duplicates to share?

No one else has anything? I'm disappointed... :(

:bump: Just thought I'd bump this one back up, in the perhaps vain hope that someone else would be able to throw out something nifty...
