| Jastra of the clawed hand07-17-06, 07:42 AM | The next campaign I run will be set in the Dalelands (by the way, I hope I am not wrong with posting this here, if I am please let me know where to move this topic) and the players will start at level 8 and go from there to level 20. I'd like to hear comments and/or hints from anyone interested about the plot I had planned. Basically, I am adding a little element into the FR history (not yet sure when exactly to set it, help with that would also be appreciated). Once upon a time, there was an incursion by the terrible entity called Pale Night (See FC1) into Faerun, an incursion that ended with the gods banishing her from Toril forever, the world itself almost splitting apart under the terrible weight of her unimaginable countenance. Any information, any writing or any remains from that time had been erased as to not allow anyone to find a means to call her back. However, recently, the founder of a group called the Faithless managed to catch a glimpse of that forbidden knowledge. The Faithless are a group of people who think despise the gods because they feel the gods abandoned them when they needed them most. Mostly, they are victims of tragedy etc. The more powerful of them are Ur-Priests, able to steal power from the gods themselves. Now, what do the Faithless have to do with Pale Night? They seek to free her, to return her horrific presence to Toril to prove a point. In their madness, they see this as the way to prove the powerlessness of the gods, to ultimately humiliate them. To do that, they seek to gain control of holy places (temples etc) and slowly draw the energies from them in roder to break the divine ban. Other demons assist them, eager for a way to spread more chaos and mayhem. However, the conflict will widen, as suddenly the devils become involved, not willing to let Toril fall to one of their ancient enemies. They send a powerful emissary, Sir Gilos, an ancient fallen Paladin and Death Knight, to destroy the temples he can find and prevent the Faithless from gaining power. Add to this the drow, sub-plots as several minor lords and the Zhents try to make use of the erupting chaos etc..... So, what do you think? Is that a viable plot? What could be done to add more detail/spice things up? I am eager to hear anything constructive. |

| Jiggawha07-20-06, 09:59 AM | Maybe you can use some ideas for Pale Night here (http://dicefreaks.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=870) |
| Jastra of the clawed hand07-20-06, 01:25 PM | Thanks. I will modify her a bit and add a few things from there, though I will use the wizards version as the base. |
