I'd like to start a thread with campaign ideas the elven returning as a common nexus. 1) The PCs must rebuild the Fey'Alamtine in the elven realms of Synnoria in the Moonshae Islands. 2) Fight the fey'ri to restore the elven realms in the high forest. 3) A forgotten elven crypt in the high moor opens and an old elven foe hold there by ancients high magic spells starts menacing the nearest lands (the orcs and other inhabitants of the high moor go to the west and Daggerford, The Way Inn and Boareskyr bridge come under attack). 4) A magic tower in Evermeet comes under attack and elven PCs uncover a plan devised by the eldreth veluuthra to release Myth Adofhaer from its imprisonment. 5) An slaver ship in the Sea of falling star comes under attack and among the slaves a bizarre dying elf is discovered. In his back still has the shriveled remains of what once were big feathered wings. He is one of the lost Avariel. The thayan ship came from Telflamm and the PCs must get into the Thayan enclave (posibly with opposition of the red wizards and the shadowmasters of telflamm). Then they interrogate the thayan slavers to learn where this avariel was captured. Tahy have to face the dangers of the high glacier and then arrive to Mount Sundabar to star diplomatic relationships with the Avariel. |

| Darrian08-20-05, 09:36 AM | What is this Myth Adofhaer you speak of? Where can I find info on it? Thanks, Darrian (If it is Eldreth Veluuthra related, I want to know) |
| ElGrecoETAC08-20-05, 10:07 AM | I've always been a bit cynical where "new events" in Faerun are concerned. Game designer creativity aside (because I hold guys like Ed Greenwood, Rich Baker, etc., to be top-notch people who like to come up with cool things for us), the FR tend to remain stable and intact, as if this was a requirement for them to be a viable gaming product. New events seem to bring about sweeping changes, but a balance that often seems contrived (see above reason) tends to endure. Having said that, I personally think that the Risen Elf-Kin are the Fery'ri. I hope it doesn't happen, but I think that the good vibes seen in the Last Mythal series will probably run out come the 3rd book. I'm guessing there'll be this big, final battle that will see the Fey'ri wasted to numbers large enough to remain one of those "enduring, viable threats" to Faerun, but too small to actually purse most of their dreams. In the meanwhile, the Elven Crusade will have been dealt such a blow as to make that enterprise non-viable. They might kick-start a new community on Faerun, but I doubt it will be one that will affect the status quo in any really way. |

| ShadowJack08-20-05, 10:29 AM | Great Thread!!! I am running a campaign set in the Silver Marches, the areas that were Earlann. One of my PC's is trying to recover the lost heritage of his family, lost when the wizards of Ascalhorn lost control of their summoned fiends. What is this Fey' Alamtine of which you speak? I think it is the novel Evermeet where mention is made of two princes of the Moonflowers who were lost when Synnoria came under attack. Can anyone tell me of this and in what source I can find info? I truly think that the earlier post was right. The fey'ri are most likely the Risen Elf-kin. They will be reduced in numbers, but not destroyed. I do believe that the Crusade will re-establish Myth Drannor. We have heard so much about it for so long it only seems right... |
| ShadowJack08-20-05, 10:33 AM | What is this Myth Adofhaer you speak of? Where can I find info on it? Thanks, Darrian (If it is Eldreth Veluuthra related, I want to know) Darrian, My understanding is that Myth Adofhaer was an Elven city in (I think, have to check Lost Empires of Faerun, to be sure) Siluvanede. The rulers of that city (evil, methinks) removed it from Faerun to save it from the armies of Earlann. No one is sure where it went to... Sounds like the Shadovar... |
| BrianCritchley08-20-05, 02:41 PM | I'm really hoping that the crusade reclaims cormanthor, but myth drannor they remain "in the process of reclaiming" this would really open up myth drannor as an adventureing sight a lot more.. |
| Mankyle08-20-05, 03:45 PM | The Fey Alamatine was a potent artifact in the form of a great obsidian wall taht could function as a portal for anyone who had an special focus called Alamtine triangle. It was located in the Synnoria vale in the Moonshaes, but was destroyed by the Elf Eater (read the druidhome trilogy). It was mainly used as an escape tool by Faerunian elves who wanted to go to evermeet. As it was one of the scarce portal from and to Evermeet, Queen Amlaruil could want to rebuild it as a tool for guarding the island against future threats. One adventure like this would probably require epic magic or a PC who had the "craft magic portal" feat. |
| Andyr08-20-05, 09:06 PM | I'm guessing there'll be this big, final battle that will see the Fey'ri wasted to numbers large enough to remain one of those "enduring, viable threats" to Faerun, but too small to actually purse most of their dreams. I thought there were only about 50 of them in the first place? |
| dawgfan08-20-05, 11:17 PM | I understand the thought that "Risen Elfkin" refers to the fey'ri, but the only reason i'm skeptical is that wouldn't the fey'ri needed to have made their first appearence in 1375, the year of the risen elfkin, for it to coincide as the meaning. I made my statement because in Rich's books, events are leading up to 1375 and it does tend to have that "good vibe" that would make one think that Cormanthor is going to be reclaimed. |
