I am bringing back an old group my players havn't used in some time. It was the original group I started with in FR, and since we have went to other settings. Well I'm going to run those characters again. These guys are either level 19 or 20, pretty tough. They know their stuff, and are a hearty group of adventurers to say the least.

The last thing we did was run thru City of the Spider-queen, a amped up version because the mod only calls for level 10 charactesr, they were like 17-18 at the time, but I liked the story so much I did the necessary prep work. They finished it, and I would like to continue having Kiaransalee(sp) being the groups main nemesis. I have a good idea of what I'm going to do, nothing set in stone yet. I am not running this for another month so I have time. In a nutshell....I am taking the ideas of magical or important locations that have affects from the DMG2. The players are to go to these different locations in Fearun and activate these sites of old forgotten power (sites are good aligned) to counter Kiaransalee's attempt to take control over every undead creature in Faerun using similiar sights just sites of evil instead of good. These sites will be guarded appropriately.

My reason for the post though, is I'm having trouble of picking some varied and cool locales to place these sites of power. And having not touched FR in about 2 or 3 years I have forgotten alot. Here is what I have planned already.

1. Underneath Myth Drannor
2. Somewhere in Chult, perhaps a volcano
3. Of the coast near a large city, possible Waterdeep, in a Sahaguin(sp) village
4. Someplace in Thay, nowhere in particular at the moment.
5. The final place will be back in the Underdark where they may end up battling Kiaransalee's Avatar, pending on their level at the end.

If anyone can think of any specific locations in Faerun that would be cool and varied and would fit with this sort of game please let me know, I would appreciate it. Thanks

The Phlan area? There was a lot of locals around there who may be interesting...

1. Underneath Myth Drannor

-Since you are going to be dungeon delving in and around Myth Drannor, are you aware of any of the current happenings in the city? They are kind major.

Some suggestions:

The Forest of Mir, between Tethyr and Calimshan. Old elven ruins, surface drow, and weird twisted forest badness.
Deep Shanatar, old Dwarven ruins. Lots of potential there.
The High Forest (which includes the Dire Wood), or underneath it (fungustown). There are a number of good and evil sites around the High Forest, including Unicorn Run and the ruins of Hellgate Keep.
On a mountaintop somewhere - the Snowflake mountains in the SE of Amn are quite impressively high.

1. A Netherese ruin in the Anauroch desert. If those Netheril folks were good for anything it was making crazy ruins.

2. Anywhere in Dambrath. There are not enough adventures set there.

3. In another prime world that touches Faerun somewhere in a weird kind of metaphysical way.

I am not up to date on the goings on of Myth Drannor...I checked wikipedia and it didn't say anything I didn't already know. Why, what happened?

Oh, nothing really...

The elves have reclaimed Myth Drannor. And forced the demons out... and other stuff

Just have that event take place after the PCs have left. You could even say that them killing monsters there and activating nodes of goodness helped it happen.

Although really the whole elves reclaiming Myth Drannor is kind of unneccesary in my opinion. I mean, how are they reclaiming parts of Cormanthyr if they're all moving to The Undying Lands Evermeet.

The Elven Retreat is over. This isn't Middle Earth, they can return any time they want.

Yeah, I don't get the novels or anything. I just have the Campaign setting and a few of the supplement books and it doesn't say anything about the elves taking back Myth Drannor. But yeah, I will just say it happeneds before. Or it just doesn't happen in my FR game:)
