| Kuje3103-09-05, 05:36 PM | Some of you might know and some of you might not, but some of us over on Candlekeep.com have been working on a unofficial fan based PDF. Well issue one was finally released yesterday and I thought some of you might be in interested in it. Also Alaundo would gladly include other fanbased articles in future volumes. http://www.candlekeep.com/compendium/compendium.htm |
| Web_Dancer03-10-05, 05:57 PM | I cna't believe nobody has responded to this. This is excellent! I can tell that a lot of work has been put into this, thank you very much and hope more is along the way! Edit: I am also loving the great artwork and the journal format telling of the island of Nimbral. |

Me either but I just chalked it up to no one having anything to say or maybe the fans weren't interested in having thier own articles included in future volumes...... |
| BloodAdvocateReincarnated03-10-05, 06:02 PM | Aswome, amazing. By the way there is a **** of material on these forums so that is why they havent yet responded. Anyway i particularly enjoyed Untold Tales |
| ksu_bond03-10-05, 06:43 PM | Obviously a compilation of work such as this is fantastic, much in the way that Kuje's work on compiling Ed's endless insight. And people tend not to give praise as often as they do complaints, so in a manner of speaking a lack of response is actually a good thing. Now as to the lack of response for material to be included, I can't really say. As for myself, I guess I haven't posted anything to be included for the same reason I don't usually post my homebrew ideas: first, I'm a perfectionist and tweak them from time to time, and second, not all that confident on how good they are. But that's me  |
| Iakhovas03-10-05, 07:21 PM | Kudos to those that submitted articles and worked on the compendium. It's a wonderful collection of realmslore indeed! |
| Preternatural03-10-05, 08:54 PM | I just finished taking a look at it. I am stunned by the professional feel of it. The cool art, the atmospheric layout and the good writing all looked and felt like it would be parts out of an offficial book. There's a definite flavor to it. You guys did an excellent job. |
| ClobberinTime03-10-05, 09:31 PM | I agree its awesome.... |
| Kuje3103-10-05, 09:53 PM | Thanks guys. :) Were working on issue 2 and as I said Alaundo would love to see other FR fans submit. :) |
| Web_Dancer03-10-05, 10:43 PM | Can you give us an idea of what you might want(locations, NPCs, adventures, stories)? I am totally itching to write something. |
| Kuje3103-11-05, 12:53 AM | Can you give us an idea of what you might want(locations, NPCs, adventures, stories)? I am totally itching to write something. Talk to Alaundo. He'd probably want all of the above. :) I know my hooks for the next volume has been sent and me and another are in discussion about doing some planar lore. Were also hoping to hear back from Gray since he also knows his planar lore. :) As for stories we have also been discussing another PDF for those of us who want to submit realms based short stories. |
| Gray Richardson03-11-05, 03:32 AM | Planar lore from me? Oh I would dearly love to contribute! You shall have some meager offerings forthwith. :) |
| Horathgar03-11-05, 06:35 AM | I would love to do this, Unfortunately at this time i'm on a stupid government owned computer so i can't even install adobe to read it. But rest assured the MOMENT i get the ability, i will be reading, and trying to contribute when i can. being that i've got nothing better to do than write stories and play games. Excellent idea. | bobsan03-11-05, 10:30 AM | I am absolutely amazed! Well done folks! The detail is impressive and the artwork...absolutely amazing! My hats off to you all. |
| Lashan03-11-05, 03:47 PM | Hmmmm.....if you guys are taking submissions, perhaps I can edit up my Orcs of the Vast or compile all the stuff I got from Ed on Tantras into something....? |
| Kuje3103-11-05, 04:17 PM | Hmmmm.....if you guys are taking submissions, perhaps I can edit up my Orcs of the Vast or compile all the stuff I got from Ed on Tantras into something....? Possibly :) Talk to Alaundo. :) I know he'd still like articles for the site as well. |
| Lashan03-11-05, 04:32 PM | He did already ask to put the orc article on a scroll for the website. I said "hellyeah" |
| Lokahn Mandrake03-12-05, 03:44 AM | Excellent, bravo Gentlemen. Congrats not only to Kuje, but everyone that contributed to the project, really nice work. Had I known about this in advance I may have tried to produce some material. I run a homebrewed campaign world that uses a wealth of info from FR. One of the primary reasons that I don't simply use FR "as is" is that some of my players are just too well versed in the lore, peoples, & places of the Forgetten Realms, therefore I am forced to shake things up a bit so it isn't so "old hat". Could you say a few words Kuje about how submissions are handled, how to contact Alaundo directly or otherwise, etc.? Thanks again, Lokahn Mandrake |
| Kuje3103-12-05, 01:15 PM | Could you say a few words Kuje about how submissions are handled, how to contact Alaundo directly or otherwise, etc.? Thanks again, Lokahn Mandrake Mostly we've discussed it on the candlekeep.com boards, which are linked in the page I linked. Or we mail Alaundo and discuss things with him. His web addy should be on the candlekeep.com site. :) |
| Sarigar03-15-05, 01:16 AM | Glad to see so many of you liked the work in Volume I. Volume II is well under way, and Kuje here is already looking at material fof Volume III with his furry hamster partner. If you do not have any articles to add to the Compendium, feel free to comment here or at the Keep as to what you liked, disliked, would like to see, or what places you want to see some info on. Comments and suggestions are invaluable in creating materials that everyone wants to read. The Hammer |
