Champions of Valour.... [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-03-05, 07:06 AM I saw the advertisement for the upcoming Champions of Valour book, but knowing the tardiness of my local bookstore, it will probably take 3-4 months after it is released to be imported. :(

Still, it looks pretty much like the counter to CoR. I was wondering what sort of iconic heroes you might expect to see statted out in it? Not that I can do anything to influence the final printing, but still curious.

I am half-expecting a revised stat block of elminster. And knowing wotc, he will be a fusion of pre ELH, 3.0 and 3.5 mechanics. :rolleyes:

09-03-05, 01:26 PM I expect a Paladin or Cleric or two to fill out the knightly orders and church clergies of good and good leaning neutral deities. A few NPCs from groups like the Harpers or what not.

But as for the Champions of Good. I really don't know. Are there even Eternal Goods like there are Eternal Evils? Are there any famous beings of goodness on the level of notoriety and power of the Champions of Evil. I can't think of anything off hand. A few advanced celestials perhaps, but nothing on the level of coolness as Kezef "Gods fear me" or Dendar "I will eat the sun."

More evil left to the PCs to handle I suppose. :D

09-03-05, 11:26 PM Yah, but I have not heard of any eternal goods that have been mentioned in novels.? Closest I can think of is that aspect of Lurue(plot device and glorified guest appearance). Are they any more I am unaware of?

09-04-05, 02:59 PM It is possible that there might be some stats/write-ups of the Ealadrin servants of the Elven Pantheon. Possibly some Mulhornadi stuff dealing with the aasimars or incarnations.

09-04-05, 04:02 PM I never though about a counterpart to the Eternal Evils. My wild guess is to see stats for Al-Dimineira, who banished Errtu and hurled the Crystal Shard across the planes into Icewind Dale. (Probably advanced solar.)

09-04-05, 04:12 PM Interesting. Though it appears the odd solar or other celestial are the main running candidates for Champions of Good/Valour. Maybe we'll get some good mostly original NPCs as well. I particularly liked the lore for Sonneillon from Champions of Ruin. Provided some background to work with for my Impilturan paladin.
