Walls 03-19-07, 10:53 PM	I am looking for information on the "Chosen", not just of Mystra but moreso pantheon wide. Going with the Abeir Toril census I was thinking of retconning an old character into a Chosen of Mielikki. Any help on which book to find this in or what not... awesome.

Old Sage 03-20-07, 10:26 AM	The only Chosen templates currently published are those for Mystra, Bane, Malar, and Deneir. The Chosen of Mystra is located in the FRCS -- pg. 247. The Chosen of Bane is referenced in Faiths & Pantheons -- pg. 213. The Chosen of Malar appeared in DUNGEON #129 as I recall. And the Chosen of Deneir is detailed here at WotC, in the FR Novels archive.
Old Sage 03-20-07, 10:27 AM	In 2e, the three Chosen of Silvanus/Mielikki/Eldath are stat'd in the Vilhon Reach sourcebook, and some of Amlaruil's powers as the Chosen of the Seldarine are stat'd in the Evermeet sourcebook. And while we don't have their exact templates... Shuruppak has been stat'd in both 2e and 3e -- Powers & Pantheons and the Epic Level Handbook respectively. Malik (2e) was covered in DRAGON #245. Qilue (2e) is detailed in the Heroes' Lorebook. Slarkrathel (3e) is stat'd in Lords of Darkness. Pil'it'ith (3e) is from Serpent Kingdoms. Erik Scott de Bie (Fox-at-Twilight's creator) confirms that she is a Chosen of Ereven - though he leaves it specifically vague just what abilities she has that are the results of that status. Gzimnind SkixtalqHehe... Teylas Yamun KhahanRemember though, according to the Spellbound boxed set and its associated adventure modules... Yamun is a ghost now -- which may make his possible status as a 'Chosen'... somewhat fickle.

Maybe.It may be that Sylūne's experiences with the Scepter of Savras played some part in allowing her to maintain her Chosen status after her physical destruction. We know the ability she gained while under the Scepter's influence enabled her to hold together when her physical form was destroyed by dragonfire whereupon she became a spectral harpist (of sorts). It may have been that influence which also, while allowing her to remain intact, allowed her to maintain her Chosen status as well. It's also possible that Azuth himself had some hand in Sylūne's continued status as a Chosen of Mystra after her physical death -- given Savras's earlier treatment of Sylūne while she was under his subliminal influence. Azuth may have felt responsible for unintentionally drawing Sylūne into the past troubles experienced between the two deities. We can assume this may be the case, since we know Azuth has taken it upon himself to watch out for Sylūne since her death.

Old Sage 03-20-07, 08:49 PM	Jeryth was detailed in the 2e City of Splendors boxed set. See the 2e Vilhon Reach tome for Ashenford, Lady Shadowmoon, and Shinthala. The composition of the listing was made up from references taken from various sources:- novels, sourcebooks, DRAGON Magazine articles, author/game designers comments.

Unless it has been directly altered, contradicted, or ignored somewhat by updated references in 3e FR sourcebooks. I consider most of the 2e FR sources to be valuable resources in my Realms library.
