Can a non-cleric use the abilities for the Claw of the Revenancer?

Say if you had 1 lvl of cleric (so you could cast divine) and read a scroll of create greater undead, would that work as the spell trigger for the claw of the revenant?

The undead-creation function of the claw uses the spell trigger activation method,

Spell Trigger

Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it’s even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Anyone with a spell on his or her spell list knows how to use a spell trigger item that stores that spell. (This is the case even for a character who can’t actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin.) The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

If you have at least one level of any class that has create greater undead on its spell list (wizard/sorcerer, cleric, or access to the death or undeath domains), even if you cannot actually cast that specific spell then you can use that ability of the claw. Keep in mind that it is only that one ability that is spell trigger, the other two are continuous or use activated.
