05-05-07, 07:43 PM Well, I did a search on "cloudy" and I got a spell returned, and if you think the spell is in a Complete product, maybe you should post other than in a campaign-specific location, such as the Forgotten Realms forum.

05-05-07, 07:58 PM Umm, I am sure you did get returns for spells containing the words cloudy, but I asked about the FEAT cloudy conjuration, and maybe you should LOOK AT THE FORUM WE ARE IN!!!

The link I give takes you to the Consolodated Lists archive, of which one is the FEAT listing, of which, when I typed in the word "cloudy" to the search feature, I got a return called "Cloudy Conjuration" (yes, I typoed Spell in the last post, but if you'd followed the link in the first place it never woulda gotten to me having to post about how to use the listings).

So yes, I wrote the wrong word....and yes, your failure to follow the link (and posting guidelines) led to my sarcastic tone that you can't handle.

05-05-07, 09:12 PM Well, gee I DID follow the link and there is no Complete X forum, so guess what posting FR general is not horrible cause the rules are used FR too. Since you seem to be the Moderator or something maybe you could tell me the apropriate place for the thread.

O and when you look at the list under CL for Cloudy Conjuration- it's not on there. No, I did not notice that the list was independantly searchable, sorry, but don't get P'd at me cause you mistyped something, or in you holy opinion and I stress opinion the thread is in the wrong place.

You initially asked "can anyone give me an idea of what it does for you?" Knowing the link to the consolidated lists, I went there and checked for the feat. Finding it there, along with a basic idea of what it did, I hyperlinked the list archive URL. Instead of just copying the text from there, I gave a URL, trying to be nice and increase your ability to find things yourself in the future and save you time when looking for things and not knowing what book they might be in. (I use it all the time)

Your reply was (paraphrased) "I don't think feats from CMage are in there yet." This reply indicates two things. 1 - You didn't look, 2 - You think the feat in question is from CMage, a non FR product.

My reply indicated that when you look you'll find it (yes, I wrote spell accidently) and that if you already knew the source book of the feat in question, you should have posted in an appropriate forum. (In this case, one of the subforums of http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8 ).

Yes, many FR campaigns use Complete books, but they're not FR products, and the posting guidelines says not to use this forum for them. Now, if you were to ask "Has any FR novel character ever summoned a critter with a display similar to Cloudy Conjuration?" that would be different, as you're looking for a FR basis to the item in question. Asking "Do you think a Red Wizard would utilize the CC feat?" is also valid. Asking "What's CC do?" goes in the forums I linked above, since it's not located in any FR sourcebook.

At the point in which a link was provided to the answer you sought and you were obviously not utilizing it, my politeness level dropped. How would you like me to ask you a question, have you give me the answer, then turn around and ask the same question again 5min later? It's an insult. No, I didn't take it personally, but at that point I feel you're deserving of the sarcastic aprroach, since the kind one didn't work.

The amusing (to me) part is that once the "general idea" of the feat is revealed to you, you turn around and say that it didn't provide X information to you, when, if that's what you wanted in the first place, you should have asked about X.
