Comprehensive Timeline? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-20-04, 02:16 PM Does anyone know where to find a comprehensive timeline that not only refernces FR events, but also references where FR novels all into the timeline?

The FRCS and the Player's Guide are far from comprehensive timelines since they are missing a lot of the 300+ novels and sourcebooks.

11-20-04, 03:22 PM Check the FAQ for this forum, I am pretty sure Big Sis has linked to some comprehensive FR timelines on the web somewhere. Or google it under Forgotten Realms Chronology or Forgotten Realms Timeline and you are sure to find several.

The best one I can think of is George Krashos's Timeline of the North which has footnotes listing sources. It can be found on Eric Boyd's site and it is probably the most detailed and complete but it only deals with the North.

I have to thank you because the info in your timeline about who built it, and the little tidbits about its history and some of the folk who have lived in it over the years really helped me figure out how to design the thing and make some educated guesses about what would go where. Your timeline has been a great help to me in a lot of other different ways, too (since my campaign is set primarily in the North).

I have to thank you because the info in your timeline about who built it, and the little tidbits about its history and some of the folk who have lived in it over the years really helped me figure out how to design the thing and make some educated guesses about what would go where. Your timeline has been a great help to me in a lot of other different ways, too (since my campaign is set primarily in the North).

My pleasure Grey. The North Timeline was a labour of love but the final product was well worth it. Thankfully we may see much of it 'canonised' in months to come ... (with some revision) :clap:

As for the big one, it's not quite 'done' yet - and knowing the stuff on the schedule for 2005 there will be lots and lots of stuff to add. A major revision within a couple of months of releasing it would be too much hard work - so I'll counsel some patience for now. :D

It's nice to see that the fans like that kind of stuff, though. I've always loved the timelines more than the feats and PrCs.

12-28-04, 07:52 PM There are people out there that like feats and PrCs? I try not to get excited by game mechanics that become outdated with each revision of the game.

On the other hand, timelines, history and other juicy bits of realmslore are (for the most part) unchanging and keep me enjoying the Realms year after year.
