| Steel_Wind07-31-05, 07:39 PM | In Cormyr - A Novel, there is a reference to a group of necromantic bad guys who were enemies in Cormyr - The Witch Lords. They were fought and defeated by King Galaghard with the help of the elves in 900DR. Is there any more information anywhere on these bad guys - the Witch Lords who they were and what - if anything - became of them? |
| Alac Luin07-31-05, 08:18 PM | I'm looking at the time lines, an I can find no info that looks related to this. Sorry I'm no help. There is something about Elves defeating Sembia mercinaries in 884 DR. Also note, there is a difference between DR (dale reckoning) and CR (Cormyr reckoning) of 25 years. 900 DR = 875 CR |
| Alac Luin07-31-05, 08:30 PM | I'll corect myself a bit. If you look in Volo's guide to all things magical, there is an item, called Wyvern Crown of Cormyr, this belonged to a guy refered to as the Witch Duke the leader of a group called the Witch Lords. The duke was said to have been slain by the King of Cormyr. (no year given) It looks like they were active in the Wyvernwater area. (Volos guide to all things magical can be downloaded for free from wizards classic download page) oh... The Wyvern Crown will crumble into worthless dust when every surviving Witch-Lord is destroyed. (At least four such liches and two demiliches still exist.) |

| GothicDan08-01-05, 10:13 AM | Me too! Liches, Demiliches, and Necromancy? Oh my! Give to daddy. |
| Old Sage08-02-05, 09:11 AM | Actually, I would really like to learn more about these guys, too.Might be a question for Ed... |
| Lashan08-02-05, 09:25 AM | OH.....I haven't been keeping up with the whole thread over there. Perhaps someone else can ask? |

| Kuje3108-02-05, 08:51 PM | Ed tells us that the Witch Lords are NDA, so that means there's plans for them sooner or later. :) |
| Old Sage08-02-05, 09:01 PM | Ed tells us that the Witch Lords are NDA, so that means there's plans for them sooner or later. :)Well I said I was going to do it over at Candlekeep -- ::eyes Kuje suspiciously ;)::... So here's the full quote - I would love to say more about the Witch Lords, but I’m afraid there’s a firm, hard, still-shiny NDA forbidding me to utter a syllable. Which in itself should, of course, tell you something. :} Let me be tauntingly mysterious for a moment and say that at least four scribes of Candlekeep (not counting my lovely Lady Hooded, of course) know more. I’m not going to identify them to you, of course. :} |
