So my thread somehow got deleted because my innocent question got overran by a bunch of insults and derision.

Is the current plan to not print "Forgotten Realms" on the spine of the book a plan by Wizards to change the format, or is it a mistake? Buying "Cormyr" the other day, the new spine design seemed strange. It appears as though everyone's copy is like this, too. Is this a printing mistake or was it intentional?

Pal, are you sure your life is that easy and simple that you have nothing more serious to concern your mind with and spend your time on?

I would say it is intentional a mistake like that would have been noticed when they got the sample copies....I'd hope.

I seriously doubt they'd make a mistake that big and let it hit shelves. I think it's safe to assume it's a new plan.

Hrm. Ther 3.0 Psionics book hit store shelves with the first chapter printed twice, back to back, in its entirety. I think there were was a run of one book (I want to say it was DMGII, but I could be wrong) that made it to stores with the cover on upside down.

These were printing errors and not design errors, so it's not quite the same thing, but I would say it's possible that the lack of 'Forgotten Realms' on the cover was a mistake.

it's a printing error guys, these things happen. they useally do notice it and if they decide it's not that big a deal they'll let it go out anyway.
as was mentioned occasionally in the past HUGE printing errors have occured, that should have resulted in a recall. this is as I said obviously just a minor printing error, no biggy. should WOTC recall all the books and loose a fair bit of money for such a MINOR thing?

Yes, I am sure, thanks. Also, thanks for your irrelevant and time-wasting response. Is your life so easy that you can troll posts for no reason?

Trolling posts?

So I trolled your thread with a post of just a single line? - which I can assure you it took me less than 10 seconds to write.

In case you did not get it (which is clearly so) I meant it as a joke.Did you notice the smiley at all?

You awesomely showed your level of intelligence - both with your thread AND with your reply to me.

Get a clue.

Please delete this thread. Yet another one of my threads became overrun with crap. Jesus, all I did was ask a simple question.

-Eh, don't sweat it. A lot of people around here just don't really know when to keep their fingers off the keyboard.

I have a copy of Complete Divine that is bound upside down, so maybe that's the book you're thinking of.

It's highly unlikely that the general public would have any hard facts to answer your question. Quite simply, why don't you ask customer services at WotC?

Anyway, I've now skimmed through the book. Apart from a few odd things that happen that I'd never allow, I say it works fine=)

They also neglected to print the ISBN number (or product number or whatever that number is) on the spine. :D

I'll either wait for a corrected version down the road, or won't bother at all. I cannot tolerate imperfection. :P

Hadn't even thought about that when I bought it. You're right though, it's much safer to buy several months after the product comes out. WotC doesn't have a good track record for getting things right the first time.

I've learned to wait. :D

Unfortunately, I waited too long for F&P and now it's out of print, so waiting does have a down side. Also, had I waited for the second printing of 1e Deities and Demigods, I would have NEVER gotten those lovely three pantheons that they got sued over. ;)

But being a computer-junky, I find it's always better to wait until everyone else has theirs before picking something up. Early-adopters always get the 'buggy' stuff.

Given the number of typos in various WotC products it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it were a mistake that didn't get caught. And yes, I did read this post about six times to make sure I didn't have any typos in it, so if any exist don't point them out.

my question is what everyone thinks about the new adventure format? I picked up a copy of the core adventure "The Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde" on pure whimsey, and noticed the odd, new format (i'm old school... give me shaded text, encounter tables, and a blue & white map on the inside cover of the module)
Now I see the same format in Cormyr:TotW- it'll take some getting used to, but what do you guys & gals think of it?
Stigger

From the screenshots of the formats, it looked very cool to me, but I can't say I've seen them in print yet. And probably won't for the foreseeable future unfortunately.

I'm not saying its bad, just not familiar looking. I fear change :hides: I think after I actually run the adventure I'll know if this style works for me.

Aye, same as Xavier. I'm not quite sure what to make of them yet, and I think I'm gonna be flipping through the pages quite a lot.
