Hi,

I am currently running CotSQ for a 3.5 Realms Campaign and have come across a few rules situations for which I could use the FR community’s help.

NOTE: These questions are all spoilers for the adventure, so if you are playing it right now it might be best not to read any further.

My questions are:

Irae’s Blast Infidel ability effectively Maximizes all negative-energy-using spells she casts vs. Lawful Good creatures. The Weave Disruption caused by the Undying Temple enhances all spells that use negative energy as if the Empower Spell feat were applied to them. In your opinion, should these effects stack?
Silveraiths have as their means of melee attack the ability to make an incorporeal touch attack that functions as an Inflict Serious Wounds spell. Can this ability be used by a Silveraith as an effectively unlimited means of healing both itself and other undead?

Thanks in advance!

1. Yes.
2. I don't see why not.

yes they stack, but in the specific examples used in teh past, the empowered damage is not itself maximised.

aka the blast infidel does max damage, plus you roll half of it as the empower.

Hello,

Do you mean in my own campaign, or in the adventure?

She's alive in the adventure.. but I'm thinking of giving her a undead template of some sort.. she seems somewhat weak.. Might also want to use a new statline for her.

K, thanks.

follow-up question. does that kirensalee PrC in the PGtF require the character to be undead?

Hi!

No, it does not require the character to be an undead. On the contrary even: you have to have a feat that is intended for living creatures ("Lichloved" from the BoVD).

The catch is that, by recreating Irae with that specific PrC, she would not meet the requirements to research an Epic spell as she does in the adventure... (she would not have enough Caster Levels).

Of course the DM could rule that her Necromancer and Cleric Levels stacking for necromancy spells could also be taken into account for developping THIS one given spell (which is a paramount of Necromancy, really).

But even Irae in the adventure does not have the prerequisites to cast epic spells.
Sghe needs 24 RANKS in knowledge religion and 9th lvl spells. As a lvl 20 character, she is missing one rank in knowldege religion to qualify.
And, although she is ECL 22 and may pick up epic feats, she hasn't had the opportunity to pick them up yet (last character level feat she got is lvl 18, which would be ECL 20 and just shy of the level required to qualify for an epic feat).

You can always just slap on a few exstra level.. it's the last fight of a really long adventure, as a DM I want more bang for my buck as she is the last monster and all.

Sorry about not answering you right away (got distracted by the hulabaloo over the new Rules of the Game article on Polymorph...)

In my campagn she is not Undead, but mortal. Also, I've upped the ante with this adventure by increasing Class Levels and HD for all the creatures in it, since my players are already at 19th level. (Speaking of which, I've got upgraded 3.5 stats for Duneth Whaeril, the Arachnoid Grey Render [god that thing's deadly!] as well as Maur Giants [from the Underdark sourcebook] if anyone wants them).

Thus I'm planning on upgrading Irae to a CR of 23 or so by adding Cleric Class levels and bypassing the Yathrinshee PrC entirely.

I am confused, lack of sleep-sorry-, she is human in the CotSQ book but in your campaign, she is Undead?

in the module she is alive, and he said that in his version she was alive as well.

Actually, (in the book) she is a Drow, and a living one that is...
