| kiesloth06-05-06, 10:56 AM | hello everyone! I was thinking of creating a guild in a game im playing and i ll be needing some help please. My character is a Bard-Chameleon 16th lvl, and has the leaderhip feat on followers and extra followers, so the starting members are those attracted by the feat. The guild is in the castle i made as a base, 30 min outside Waterdeep. But i d like to hear your ideas on whats the guild about, primary skill use, gods involved,a symbol, alliances and enemies, aligment and of course a name! thanx :) |

What about his reputation? What about his friends/enemies? What about his goals? I mean, you don't develop the guild by nothink, it should correspond to it's master. |

| FIREBLAST3DRAGONMASTER06-05-06, 03:13 PM | we need your alignment so we can find out what your character is most likely going to want to achieve. example: Jarlaxle leader of menzoberranzan's house of rogues |
| BrianCritchley06-05-06, 03:20 PM | a guild will require you to first off identify a trade you practice (and are good at) that lacks any resident guilds reprersenting it, guilds hate competition. this will be VERY difficult near waterdeep. then you will have top gather like minded practicers of your craft together. I reccomend taking a look at powers of faerun and dungeon masters guide 2 for some helpful fluff and mechanics. |
| kiesloth06-06-06, 07:57 AM | im sorry. his aligment is chaotic neutral and he has a good relationship with the waterdeeps arcane academy. He loves music but has real bad name at the new Olamn (the bardic college) mostly because of not working free for the guildmasters own plans....-(free is a word i dont know) Indeed he does a bit of trade, i kind of create simple magic items and petrified awakened animal guardian statues + he has a massive forgery skill. pleaseeeeeee help me brainstorm... |

| Tobus Neth06-07-06, 08:21 AM | Guilt comes from selfishness in ones self; For letting your self and others down, It is a emotion that keeps us in check. |
| kiesloth06-07-06, 08:46 AM | u see the campaign takes place in Waterdeep and its impossible to change this for now... But the fact that there are allready guilds that study magic and music does not discourage me, it might even be a very nice hook for the DM and i shall finally put that old rusty diplomacy skill in use... SO please throw in some ideas about any kind of guilt, that will offer much help to brainstorm :weep: |
| BrianCritchley06-07-06, 02:51 PM | if there's already a guild, you'd be best off to join a pre-existing one and work your way up the ranks. aquireing a modicum of power is difficult. you can't expect to become a mover and shaker in one session of play |
| NightBreeze06-08-06, 01:27 PM | Oh, come on, if he likes it let him try. Depending on his Dm he could get his ass kicked but that's the fun of the game, too. So, dear bard, you will have a LOT of problems as it's known that especially in waterdeep it's a hell to intrude in a business already taken. You'll need a lot of money ( and i really mean LOT) and some powerfull allies. Or you could try to do something unconventional, like building magic - and music related instruments or wonders, as probably the bardic school and the mage order aren't close enough to ally on building items. At least you could have a lot of work and opportunities, but you risk enraging BOTH of them ,not just one :D |
| kiesloth06-08-06, 03:26 PM | thats a start i guess!!! "Magical Buildings CO" is 1 idea. :) |
| Alac Luin06-08-06, 11:55 PM | SO please throw in some ideas about any kind of guilt, that will offer much help to brainstorm :weep: Well, speend a little to much coin at a Feast Hall, sampleing into what is offered there can lead to some kind of guilt the next morning. :P |
| kiesloth06-10-06, 04:11 AM | stupid mistakes i made again.... :D :D :D :D :D |
| Alac Luin06-11-06, 10:52 PM | No biggy, I'm even guilty of doing the rouge/rogue thing. :) |
