Have any of you ever crossed the Realms with a story/ideas/characters from other media?
What were the results?
If you could crossover the Realms with anything, what would it be?

I didn't actually cross over the realms with some other world, but i think D&D campaign could very well take place in almost any fantasy realm. The Lord of the Rings would provide a fine campaign world as well as Dominaria from Magic: The Gathering. Of course you have to change some of the rules and invent some new ones: In Lord of the Rings e.g. not everybody can become a wizard and a MTG based campaign needed a 'planeswalker' template. The direct influence of the gods would also be lower in these worlds. You could also set a campaign in a mythology based setting - although this would change the available races/classes... more dramatically.

Once when I was drunk, really badly drunk, I created stats for some computer game characters:

Agreed, and I would go so far as to say he wouldn't have barbarian levels.

I have found no less than two LOTR/FR crossover fanfictions. One's long since gone from the face of the 'Net, but the other I saved. Here it is (http://www.geocities.com/moonstone_jp/eek.doc). (Warning: Horribly written sex, R-rated stuff, brain-damaging stupidity.) I still haven't recovered from reading this travesty.

Well, you asked.

The problem with playing in LotR is that, with everyone else saving the world what are the characters going to do that is of any importance? The really good stuff was already been done!

In my spare time, I like to think about what would happen if a Jedi Knight was thrown into Faerun.
