Be nice if we could have an on going series of Realmslore like the old Current Clack section of alot of the 1E and 2E books.
Basically a rumor/news mill of information for ongoing events in the Realms.

Seeing the Sharn Inquisitive article for Eberron, reminded me how much I missed Current Clack.

A town crier or newspaper giving little summaries of current events in the Realms would be truly great. Do we have any volunteers to do this? I can help out with editing, and making sure the thread gets good coverage in the right place, and maybe do the odd article but I can't do articles regularly so I definitely can't do something like this on my own.

Neat idea. I'd like to hear what other adventuring groups are up to so my players can hear what other groups are doing in the Realms. However if the fictional town crier or newspaper is covering everything in the Realms it'll need a way to gain wide circulation throughout Faerun and maybe beyond. If it is simply based in one city, characters would have to go to that city to get that newspaper and get their news. One way would be to use Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog to sell the newspaper since she has outlets in many cities. Maybe you could call it Aurora Times. A different take, and possibly evil slant, is to have Thayan enclaves sell the newspaper since they seem to be in many cities now. Who knows what they would call it.

I'd like more canon realms lore. I mean really is it too much to ask?

seems ALL the articles out there are Ebberon, it'd be nice to get some generic stuff, and realms stuff too.

A bit of both would be nice, Canon stuff based off of novel events, and non-canon stuff maybe based off of various campaigns.

Problems though is Spoilers, and then quality control the personal campaign stuff.

I would envision the broadheet would contain material be based on novels, newly released modules (from all sources, not just official), articles published by WotC in the FR webpage, articles published in Dungeon magazie, people's own campaigns etc. It would work best if every entry tells you the source of the entry plus the FR date (if it's known).

In the edited thread I could use the "spoiler" function so people would see the sources and dcide for themselves if they want to read that entry.

Should we start a new thread for this? Or just start adding them to this one?

Let me run the idea past Paradox first, and then I'll set up a thread to ask people to post articles/entries etc.

Anyone have any ideas for a title? My suggestion would be Unforgotten Happenings :P

Sorry but news flashes about events in novels and source books would break copyright :( However we could still do a newspaper broadsheet, with just events people submit from their own campaigns ... so long as we don't get flooded with "we just killed <insert well known NPC here>" reports!

How would it break copyright? As long as we don't quote directly?
Making it very generic since it would be a spoiler.
Anything that would be a spoiler would be in <sblock> xxxx </sblock> with [ and ] replacing the < and > of course, with a note saying what it is a spoiler for.
For Example:
Early Mirtul, Year of Rogue Dragons (1373 DR)
Rumors abound of x being slain in battle or near death.
The nobles have fled back to their domains, to try and retain their holdings.

So the spoiler version would be, note this is still generic:
Spoiler for Rage of Dragons
Early Mirtul, Year of Rogue Dragons (1373 DR)
Rumors abound of x being slain in battle or near death.
The nobles have fled back to their domains, to try and retain their holdings.

Aye, I agree, no Realms altering events/news. So no killing any official NPCs and the like.

BigSis,
Would the format that I did above be okay? or still waiting for feedback?

Thanks
