Minstrel Poet 09-13-03, 11:15 PM	Are there any professionally made D&D specific trinkets out there anywhere? I believe, if they take thier time and make quality accessories, they just might sell (and I won't have to use a plain old deck of cards anymore). This idea is very plausible as The Book of Vile Darkness was naught but three paragraphs in the 3rd edition DMG. Things I would like to see: Deck of Many Things made like a real set of Tarot Cards, not like the cut-outs from Dragon Mag #148! (Full Set, 22 cards) Deck of Illusions same as above. (Full Set, 34 cards) Figurines of Wondrous Powers The Ebony Fly, Golden Lions, Ivory Goats, Marble Elephant, Obsidian Steed, Onyx Dog, Serpentine Owl. If you walk into any Hallmark Card Shop or any similar store, you will almost always see teddy bear collections, little cherubims, and old cottages that have such intense quality and attention to detail that they become instant classics for collectors. I believe D&D types are of the collector mindset as well. As far as material goes, porcelain might not be the best idea, but there are plenty of mediums out there to work with: wood, marble, stone, metal. (Oh, please stay away from those chainmail figurines, ugh) Staves, Wands & Rods . . . There are obviously way too many of these to make so an alternative would be to create 2-3 templates/designs: Type 1 geared towards magic-users, Type 2 for Clerics & Type 3 for Druids. All would be aesthetically pleasing to the individual, such as a gnarled and twisted staff, unpolished and unadorned for a druid, a mace-like rod for clerics and an elegant and expensive looking wand for the MU's. Again they would all be generic and completely interchangeable with whatever item you would need at any given time. Miniature Relics A lot of Artifacts are enormous and it is just highly unlikely that your going to slap a full-sized organ down on you playing table. So, may I suggest miniatures of artifacts like The Machine of Lum the Mad or Heward's Mystical Organ? All would be highly detailed and great collectors pieces as well as fully functioning amusement at any gaming session. Agree? Disagree? Impartial? Input? Suggestions?
Domni Dalrose 09-14-03, 10:58 AM	Figurines of Wondrous Powers There's a shop here that specializes in fossels and earth hewn items such as figurines made of soapstone. The figurines come in a large selection from turtles to birds. Staves, Wands & Rods . Do a search for these. There are hundreds of websites that sell them for use in wicca and shamanism with a large price range.
