| Ivarrius04-30-06, 09:06 PM | Since the destruction of Hellgate Keep in 1369, the Daemonfey have been released from their slumber imprisonment, and are now taking very careful steps toward recruiting and finding allies (Luskan being one of the prime candidates). My question is, what can be expected of the Daemonfey in the Marches at this time, 5 years later? Would it be wrong to use them in a current campaign, trying to undermine the powerful allegiance that Alustriel has built? What I mean by that is, would they be a good antagonist group for the PC's to have next to no knowledge of, but can come to find out about over the course of the campaign? I know in particular, they [Daemonfey] are looking for Sun Elves to begin their recruiting with, but why not Moon elves and Wild Elves, who are popular in the marches? I don't know if it makes a whole lot of sense to do this, but I am looking for a long term enemy for the campaign, one that will not be readily visible, or easily discovered. |

I know in particular, they [Daemonfey] are looking for Sun Elves to begin their recruiting with, but why not Moon elves and Wild Elves, who are popular in the marches? -Perhaps because the Fey'ri were once Sun Elves themselves. Also, I am sure that many Sun Elves would simpathize with the Fey'ri better than other Elven subraces. -It's getting late, so I'm a little tired. Sorry I can't be more of a help. I am sure someone will come along and pick up my slack. |

At least two Deamonfey (Sarya and her son Xalph, not sure of the spelling) have gathered a great army of Fey'ri and their story can be found in the Last Mythal trilogy. I would post more info but it's ferboten to speak about novels here. I don't know if there were other Daemonfey who escaped Hellgate and have gone elsewhere. |

But, heres an example: I cannot say that in "the purple rockemperor" hey what do you like about Kvartz shooting up Freekh? That was so unfair, i really liked that charcter better! (invented chracters and novel -would be a nice imaskar novel name tho :D) But at the same time its allowed to discuss say the whole dragon rage, mentioning the novels in which it happens and roughly what does happen.. as long as it isnt the actual novel that is discussed, but the events themselves or iconic character. (ie elmister, drizzt, sarya etc.. while "minor chracters" would be off limit) Hope i got that right ;) |
| theartistformerlyknownas05-04-06, 12:21 PM | They favor sun elves because of the whole sun elven attitude about remaining pure. They still think of themselves as sun elves, just better. I know in particular, they [Daemonfey] are looking for Sun Elves to begin their recruiting with, but why not Moon elves and Wild Elves, who are popular in the marches? And Daemonfaey is a term used for the organization of fey'ri and half-fiend sun elves, so it can be applied to both. Are you asking abouy Daemonfey or Fey'ri as they are not the same thing? I found it odd, however, that they refer to themselves as Daemonfey when they are decended from demons, not daemons (daemons being ugoloths). |
| tackleberry05-16-06, 07:59 PM | you need to refer to lords of darkness p126 my friend. this explains what sarya is up to as leader of the daemonfey and gives excellent info on the organisations goals. "daemonfey" is the name of the organisation that she has created, a clan of feyri and half fiends. according to LOD, they wish to gain revenge on the elves that punished and imprsoned them so long ago by capturing sun elves and mating them with demons to create an army of feyri. as for the moon and wood elves, she has a 'venomous hatred' though she wishes to punish the entire elven race for her kinds suffering and humiliation at their hands. she is a direct descendant of house dlardrageth - the original sun elf house that first experimented with breeding with demons. when the other elves found out what they were doing, they freaked out and imprisoned them. other sun elf houses also bred with demons and when she and her kin were freed in 1369, she set out to track them down. i recently introduced them as the main protagonists in my campaign and its working a treat (there is a feyri and a sun elf in my group), especially as sarya has been lurking about several elven ruins in the high forest (lothen silver spires and myth glauroch), this allows detailed use of the lost empires of faerun book and for the pcs to get involved in the real nasty dark secret history stuff the elves dont like to talk about!! |
