| rotag4205-16-04, 06:25 PM | I am looking for some information for how dajemma work. I am hoping to use a Rashemen's vision quest to allow for the party meeting to be more interesting than "you meet in a bar." I am primarily looking for clarification as to what is traditionally involved in a dajemma. I have looked in the FRCS and RoF and found only general references. Also, I am a first time DM. I will throw out some background for my characters. I have some ideas but would be interested to hear any others. I have a NG Rashemi fighter, a CN Damaran Cleric of Tempus from Narfell, A LN damaran Sun Soil Monk from Damara(not to hard so far), A CG moon elf mage from Silverymoon, and a CG moon elf bard from the high forest. Possible ideas: - The wizards of Thay are trying to establish a presense in The North/Silver Marches and the Rashemi tries to convince the rest of the party to tamper with these plans - I plan on having the bard associated with the harpers eventually. Most likely right now, she is being scouted/tested by someone contemplating bringing her in - I am open to any ideas anyone cares to share as my experience is limited Thanks Rotag |

A group of young witches and berserkers are on Dajemma from Rashemen headed towards the Silver Marches. They are being escorted by a higher level hathran who is secretly along not only to look out for them but to put a stop to thayn enclaves in the area. I started a thread in this forum about this title Campaign Assistance needed! You might check it out for ideas as well. As far as what a dajemma is, its basically an excuse for rashemmi youths to travel, drink, and go a-wenching. The best sort of adventuring really. The idea is that the youth on dajemma will get an idea of what the rest of world is like (Since rashemen is so insular) as well as possibly make valuable diplomatic allies/contacts. For Berserkers it is largely (in addition to the regular aspects, like dirnkign and wenching) an excuse to test your mettle against foreign toughs. |

I guess the thing I am having the hardest time is creating a story to get all of the PCs together without unbalancing the exp levels. I was considering the possible use of a teleport spell but I am not sure how that would work with the dajemma storyline. |
| The Quarterling05-17-04, 03:27 PM | Yes, rahsemi do USUALLY go on dajemma alone. In this case for my campaign since the rashemmi in question are so young and it is a large group the hathran is accompannying them. Also they are traveling extremely far from Rashemen. As far as how to get them there. Rather than teleport which kinda defeats the purpose, I am havign them travel over land and sea to cormyr where there is a crossroads that will transport them to Waterdeep. So they will travel from rashemen to cormyr and then waterdeep to Silverymoon. Quite a bit of overland travel. Depending on the characters in your campaign, they could all meet and go on dajemma together, or they could meet up along the way. I.e. start with the one on dajemma and have him meet up with more and more characters along the way. This will prolong the amount of time some pcs are out of action, but you could always opt to let them run villains until then. I would recommend the other pcs have a group or are starting a group in a near-by county (Thesk, Great Dale, Alglarond, Impiltur, etc) and the Rashemmi hook up with them to help them solve a problem he encounters. Ie. The group meets in danger. Thats all i got for now. |
