AFAIK, Dark Alliance 3 was (very briefly) in the works, before Interplay killed Black isle and then itself. If anyone does DA3, it won't be the original publishers.

I heard that Dark Alliance II was cut short and released short of what it originally was supposed to be. That would explain why the later acts in DA II were rushed. :(

As for DA III, I have no idea who will make that game . . . if it ever gets made. :(

It was made by Bioware, who's made several FR-themed games, including Balder's Gate and Neverwinter Nights.

Yeah, they're good. :D

I'd love to see DA3 but unless atari or obsidien (the company formed from black isle refugees) pick it up we probably won't see it. But i guess i could live with that if the new FR PS2 game is good or if they finally make Diablo 3.....

If I'm not mistaken, Obsidian's next big project is Neverwinter Nights 2. (They're also doing Knights of the Old Republic 2 -- picking up sequels from Bioware seems to be their specialty).

One very cool thing I heard you'll have in NWN2 is a new wizard-based system for automatically creating new modules. That is, you can specify what sort of adventure you want (i.e. a dungeon crawl, a wilderness setting, etc.), what level the characters going into it should start at, and what level you'd like them to end up at, and other variables, and it creates a new module for you on the fly. (I mean, I can't see that module being of very high quality, certainly not a polished adventure, but, hey, that's cool.)
