| BetterButterBuddha09-10-04, 05:43 PM | So, I'm about to begin DM'ing a pretty serious play-by-post game set in Aglarond. The campaign itself is going to focus greatly on the ancient history of the region, and I have some very, very cool ideas on what is to happen. Ancient evil that was sealed away long ago, the origin of the Sildeyuir and the goals behind the nilshai, the actual purpose of the menhir circles, the link between Aglarond and the High Forest... that sort of thing. I've got this one very cool idea that surpasses all the others, but it's a bit of realmslore that I don't posess, and I was hoping someone here could help me out. In Unapproachable East, when the Sunglade is being detailed, this one sentance mentions that there's one set of standing stones much, much older than all the others, that has depictions of an ancient pantheon on it. I want to make this a creation of the fourth creator race, the one that was the proto-ancestor of the current Fae in Faerun. The really rare one that was wiped out by some demonic plague. It seems to fit; from what I've seen, much of the Yuirwood is inhabited by Fae, and even the elves fit. Plus it gives me a great rational to explain my token Ancient Evil Guy(TM). However, I really find myself lacking in information on these guys. I've only been able to find that one paragraph in the History chapter, and I only own the 3e books, and not even all of them. So I'm asking any of you who might know this: Where in Toril can I find some information on the fourth and least of the Creator Races, the Fae Progenitors? I'm fine making something up. But if there is canon support, I'd at least like to see it. Thanks a lot! |

Never really seen any major details about the Fey creator race because Fey are Fey. :) I'd use the same ones that are in 3e MM's...... Also the deities of the Yuir are mentioned in Demihuman Deities because most of them were absorbed by the elven pantheon and one was absorbed by Sharess, etc. The Spellbound box set from 2e could be of some use as well. |

However, the ELH's Leshay might fit the bill for a rare, powerful, fey creator race, if you need stats and such. |

It's one of the best Realms novels written (IMO), deals exactly with the mysteries you are interested in (including the Sunglade and the old Yuir gods), and suggests all sorts of possible adventures. Other than that, you might look at the write-up of Sharess in Powers & Pantheons and the elven pantheon in Demihuman Deities. --Eric |

So sprites, pixies etc.. where do they come from? Perhaps a bit like Yuanti for Sarrush, a servant people. Pixies etc designed as quasipets, eternally happy puppies to keep their creators amused thru eternity. Even some specialised to preform certain duties in Fairyland. ..which is some type of a demiplane? |
