| Hell_Bane01-08-06, 02:33 AM | A friend once told me that Drizzt and Elminster once met each other, but he couldn't remember if it was in a novel, RPG book, Dragon magazine or whatever... So, is there any truth in that, or was my friend remembering something else completely wrong? |
| Lord Karsus01-08-06, 07:04 AM | -I am pretty sure that your friend's information was wrong. As far as I can remember, the two have never met. Drizzt operates mainly out of the North (Icewind Dale, Mithral Hall). Elminster operates mainly out of Shadowdale. But, the man does get around. But, I don't think they've met anywhere. Elminster does know some Drow , and Drizzt does know some Chosen of Mystra, though. Don't think they've actually met though. |
| Blackheart01-08-06, 07:28 AM | When thinking about this kind of topic before, I've always pictured the kind of meetings where it's just this uncomfortable thing with half-smiles, gauging looks, and protracted silences that all lead up to a simple "Hey" or "How's it going?" I've seen this happen at concerts with smaller name bands who might not necessarily know each other, but want to give some recognition, so it's this long silence while, I assume, they wonder what the other thinks of them as far as talent, etc. I don't think that would be a far-off assumption in the Realms. Names spread quickly in the wake of deeds. No doubt, though, in the meeting discussed, El would break the ice with a clever quip. |
| warlockco01-08-06, 07:29 AM | The only way those two have met at all is via a computer game. The closest Drizzt has been to El is by meeting 2 of the Chosen/Seven Sisters (maybe 3 or 4, can't remember if he meet Larael or Khelben). |
| Zevox01-08-06, 10:45 AM | The only Chosen of Mystra Drizzt has ever really met was Aulstriel. Hes been chased by Dove, but I don't think he ever actually spoke with her. No, hes never met Elminster, though I don't doubt that hes heard of him (and that El may have heard of Drizzt via Alustriel and Dove). Zevox |
| Hell_Bane01-08-06, 01:10 PM | I thought as much, but I wanted to make sure... A cross-over between the two of them would be cool though. |
| Faraer01-08-06, 05:10 PM | It's more that we don't know if they've met -- only a few of the things that happen in the Realms are known specifically to us. I'd like to think they haven't, because that meeting would make the Realms feel smaller and more 'international' than I'd prefer. |
| Lord Karsus01-09-06, 02:22 PM | -I am sure that a meeting between Drizzt and Qilue would be interesting... |
| Mirtek01-09-06, 07:36 PM | Didn't he also meet Khelben just outside of Waterdeep? |
| Gellion01-09-06, 08:31 PM | Didn't he also meet Khelben just outside of Waterdeep? Yeah, he did. :) |
| Lord Karsus01-09-06, 10:43 PM | Yeah, he did. :) -When was Drizzt in Waterdeep? |
| KenderBryant01-10-06, 01:42 AM | -I am sure that a meeting between Drizzt and Qilue would be interesting... Maybe, but she better make sure Catti-brie never hears about it. :D -When was Drizzt in Waterdeep? I believe it was during the time he and CB spent on Deudermont's ship. |
| Lord Karsus01-10-06, 02:05 AM | Maybe, but she better make sure Catti-brie never hears about it. :D -Hey, Catti-Brie is supposed to love Wulfgar, not Drizzt. I repeat, she is supposed to love Wulfgar, not Drizzt! Anyway, it is not like Catti-Brie could really do something about it, if Qilue wanted to pursue...relations with Drizzt. I believe it was during the time he and CB spent on Deudermont's ship. -Oh, yes. Thank you. |

| Lord Karsus01-10-06, 08:18 AM | Bit behind on your reading it seems. -What's with the blocking? Anyway, am I behind? I don't even know. I'm current, having finished the HBT. I did read it hastily, in order to finish it before someone else. You know, that kinda macho "I am better at reading than you" kind of thing. Have there been developments that I don't even remember? |

Peace and love on Toril. I don't think that Warlocko meant it that way, he is too peaceful and friendly a poster for that. ;) I suppose that the blocking was for those who don't want to have their reading-fun spoiled by having read by accident that yes there are some recent development showing a romance between two characters. Btw. I am just guessing that it is what he meant because I never ever read any Drizzt novel. Bocklin |

You might say that: Once Drizzt gets back to Mithril Hall he walks straight to Cattie-Brie, picks her up (she still being on crutches and whatnot), kissing and hugging her, and carries her back into the hall while the others look on, embarassed. On the next page there is a reference to the two of them sitting on the edge of "thier bed". I don't think I need to spell it out further ;) . Zevox |

| NightBreeze01-11-06, 10:36 AM | I really hope that in the next novel Cattie dies. I like her, but i'd love to see Drizzt's reaction, now that they got the things working. I'm not evil.... |

| Bocklin01-11-06, 11:08 AM | It looks like this Thread is dangerously moving in the direction of novels discussions. Count me out. "pop" (Bocklin teleports away for fear of the mighty and powerful Wiz's repraisal) |
