| Naked Elf Girl03-21-06, 04:49 AM | What are the differences between the two editions?? what makes 3ed better or worse than 3.5ed??? thank you very much for your help. |
| Karsus the Mad03-21-06, 12:21 PM | They nerfed spellpower and spell focus. Now spellpower adds +1 caster level instead of stackable +1, +2, or +3 DC, and spell focus now adds only +1 DC....and it's greater and epic versions also only add +1 DC. Oh, it also makes any spell requiring a saving throw pretty useless. |
| Brenigin03-21-06, 02:03 PM | I think the original poster was looking for something a little more comprehensive than that... Essentially, 3.0 and 3.5 are mostly compatible. The most obvious changes were the dropping/name-changing of a few skills, reworking of some classes (in the case of the Ranger, significantly, in the case of Fighter and Cleric, hardly at all) and adjustments to how some feats/spells/situations work. Assuming you are familiar with 3.0, the downloads here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a) should help explain what changed. In terms of which is better...matter of opinion. I think 3.5 on the whole is an improvement. |
| Alac Luin03-21-06, 03:46 PM | Reworking of the DR system, swarms, construct creation, etc, etc... In (my) theory, 3.5 is a huge Errata fixing flaws in the known "unbalanced" aspects of 3.0. It's still not perfect, but a little more balanced. |
| Dark Wizard03-21-06, 04:51 PM | Even after 3.5e, it seemed they sort of added on the idea of swift and immediate actions originally in the miniatures handbook or something. (3.5.1?) |
