Silverpanther 10-23-06, 05:08 AM	So, i have been away from the boards... and the realms for the greatest part... for good nine months. no, didn`t become a father nor hugh grant fan, just lived in a cockroach-invested students dormitory for that time.... with no internet! so i REALLY need to know what happened in the realms this year! first, what year do we live in? i heard some princess took back cormanthyr? is there ANY official (or at least complete) timeline or something like that. if cormanthyr was taken back, that would suck, because it would be a vital part of my next campaign, and i would HATE to blow the canon with a (malkizid?)posessed new queen who led all their followers into desaster :evillaugh

I won't get into much detail... -Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunson" is dead. -The Elven Crusade has regained control of Myth Drannor, and is currently destroying all monsters/evil beings who reside within. Ilsevele Miritar will eventually become the new coronal, in DR 1380. -Deep Imaskar has been trashed by a powerful Imaskari pseudo-deity, and Ususi, a Deep Imaskari magician is going to start recolonizing the surface world for the Deep Imaskari. -That should be enough to pique your interest.

We're two for two. What's the next novel in the series? EDIT: Wait, wait. The last novel, Bloodwalk, did not have a RSE. So, the series is 2 for 3, not 2 for 2.

The Border Kingdoms, to me, was always the area that was intentionally left blank, so that individual PC groups would have somewhere to put their own kingdom. It's nice for gaming groups, but annoying when looking at everything lorewise. It's like a big drop of white-out was dropped on the map of Faerun.

roll8dn 10-27-06, 12:53 PM	Here's a little spoiler about the first one on the list: Power of Faerun has some (I believe a small sidebar) mention of the elven Return. As far as I know, the other two are not mentioned in any sourcebook (as of yet).

Blackstaff and Darkvision, which are the two books I referenced, both came out fairly recently. There haven't been any sourcebooks published since then. And, it doesn't look like there will be one that deals with #2 or #3 of those spoilers, since WotC is not going to be releasing "normal" sourcebooks next year, thus far.

And why don't they retain their god smashing magic?(Seems that was one of their major points of interest... the creator of Imaskar couldn't have left that out of the curriculum for new Aritificers) ... I didn't know about Blackstaff either. How's the book? And how did the idiot manage to die? respectably? fighting some major baddie like an idiot?

The main character is Ususi, who is the magician from Lady of Poison. Basically, a Imaskari "god smashing magic" wakes up- Pandorym it was called. A Pseudo-deity of sorts. Anyway, it either became extremely upset as having been banished to an extradimensional space for thousands of years, or was corrupted. Once it's sentience escaped, it began to wipe the Imaskari, and their descendants off of the planet. Using a specific type of crystal naitive to the Celestial Nadir (Where it was from), it could possess beings. Long story short, it ravaged Deep Imaskar before being contained again. -As for Blackstaff, it was very good too. Khelben wasn't exactly killed. He sacrificed himself in an extremely powerful High Magic ritual, where he was the center of the first circle. Very similar to Evermeet, and her creation. He knew that it was his time to go, and simply passed on. The title Blackstaff is still around, however, and belongs to one of Khelben's apprentices, who may or may not retain some of his memories, since the two were "linked" for a time, due to some magics. -I won't get into much more detail on either one- you'll just have to read 'em! :)
