Hell_Bane 06-25-04, 09:06 PM	It seems to me that the official stats of Drizzt in 3E and 3.5E aren't quite right... The 3E stats him as a 16th level Ranger. The 3.5E stats him as a 10th level Fighter/5th level Ranger/1 level Barbarian. Now, the first version isn't right because Drizzt didn't feel like a Ranger before he went out of the Underdark, and he had already gained many levels before that happened, so he cannot be only Ranger. The second version has one level of Barbarian, which could be logical when you think of how wild Drizzt was in the Underdark at some point. It also has Fighter levels, which I'm okay with, since he was already a good warrior before leaving the Underdark, and he wasn't (IMO) a Ranger yet. His training in the Underdark was also a Fighter training, IMO once again. Now, the only problem that I have with this version is how many levels he has in the Fighter and Ranger classes. I believe Drizzt should have more levels in Ranger than in Fighter. Why? Because he is THE Ranger of Forgotten Realms, how can he only be a 5th level Ranger? dragonheart 06-26-04, 09:33 AM	three different comments on this: 1: should Drizzt have more ranger and less fighter levels? maybe I can see him as anything from 7F/8R to where he is now (10F/5R) so take your picks. 2: is Drizzt the"best" ranger inthe realms - no while he is averry good and possibly the best known ranger there are a number of other rangers that are pure rangers and higher levels ( Arilyn's father for one) who would be the "best ranger" and possibly better known than Drizzt (In the realms anyway). 3: one thing almost everyone here seems to agree on - WotC hacked all the NPC stats rather than min/maxing them to the max so they never seem to match up to the novels - oh well gives us all a chance to rewrite them to suite ourselves:D (this isn't necessarily a bad thing especially when the stats are based on roleplay/personal history like all of El's multiclasses which make them much more interesting charcters.)

BHC_Crow 06-26-04, 11:12 AM	Printed Stats don't mean much to me except as a loose guideline. I personally place Drizzt at about a 16th level fighter, 1st level barbarian, 2nd level ranger. It reflects the Novels that I wont discuss so that Big Sister wont smack me.:D
