Hi,
I come back with another novice matter.

These boards especially deal with the FR games and accessories.
I'm looking for boards which deal with the FR novels. I'd like to discuss about these novels, about any lacks or mistakes, I'd like to ask about some histories of the heroes, etc

Thanks a lot.

-It used to, but then it was taken away for reasons that we are not supposed to discuss. If you want to talk about novels, you can go to the Candlekeep boards. Mind you, if you are only mentioning novels in reference to some other FR question, that is perfectly acceptable.

Well, actually, it boils down to this:

Many of us come not to praise Caesar, but to BURY him.

That's really it. A lot of us are not fond of the novels, or think they could be a lot better. I just happen to be one of the most vocal in that regard.

Hey hey, the novels are not usually pullitzer prises, but they can be a nice read. Somes of them are very nice, i say.

If I read FR novels, it is not to read some litteracy but to increase my knowledge of the universe where I like to play. Stories are not great pieces of writing but they are quite interisting to someone likes FR. I think !

When I want to read some litteracy, I choose one of our French writer Masterpiece !

Yeah. Some of them. Most of them, though...

Well, I think they are getting better as a whole.

what I never understood about the whole thing is this: we can't talk about the novel lest we hurt the authors feelings. But we can spend pages on a thread bashing a supplement without a care for those authors.

-Yeah, well, go figure.

-The author(s) with the "thinnest skin(s)"... :: Cough Cough:: ...aren't(isn't) (a) designer(s). :shifty:

Game design/development is a thankless job where everyone who's played for a week or longer "knows" the best way to do things. These people are used to getting their creations torn apart.

Plus, it's impossible (nearly) to playtest every new idea that comes along, so some really wacky stuff gets published that the authors/editors have to realize after the CO boards gets their hands on it.
