Bocklin 11-05-04, 07:41 AM	Greetings to you Loremasters of the Realms, Could one of you help me put a year on the events happening in the "Doom of Daggerdale" module? I did not find a "current year" info within the book. It is clearly before Randal Morn reclaimed Daggerdale (1369 DR), but I wonder if there is a specific element in the story of the Dales or in the events of the adventure that makes it clear that it should be in one given year? I ask because I am considering using this module as a start of a new campaign. I want to set the start of it well before the current events (in order to enable my players to reach level 12 by 1372 DR). And by the way, how do you call the inhabitants of the Dales? "Dalelanders"?? Finally, just out of curiosity: what was the "current year" for the "Grey Box" (which I understand to be the first ever release of the FR, correct?). Thanks for the wise, who will bring an answer to my questions! (will someone beat Kuje31 to it?? ;)) Bocklin
Lashan 11-05-04, 09:23 AM	Dalesmen are what folk of the Dalelands are called. The original boxed set has a timetable of events around 1356 DR. Actually, I think the two years listed in the time table end in the year 1356. I could be wrong, but this is off the top of my head. I do not know about the Daggerdale modules. It is possible that this module predated the boxed set.

Checking some facts to try to find the date for Doom of Daggerdale. :) Will edit this post when found. Also no the Grey Box was not actually the first official canon material, besides what was in Dragon, but the 2nd. Because Darkwalker on Moonshae beat it by a month. :) Edit: I'm assuming that it takes place in 1367 or 1368. ToT's is over and it says use the new campaign box set with this module so that means the 2e campaign box set which ends in the year 1367. The Daggerdale trilogy takes place in 1369 according to the FRCS so it makes sense, to me, for Doom to be a year or two earlier.....
Faraer 11-05-04, 03:42 PM	Folk of the Dales are dalefolk, Dalesfolk, Dalesmen, etc. The inhabitants of some Dales also have specific names, such as Arkhenfolk; in other Dales they call themselves plain dalefolk (Shadowdale).

UNDER ILEFARN? Was that it? No he wanted to know of Doom of Daggerdale which took place before the Randal Morn trilogy of modules. :)

And congratulations to Kuje31 for remaining the unchallenged champion of Realmslore! ;) I was indeed interested in "Doom of Daggerdale", a module independant of the Daggerdale trilogy. It seems that this specific Dale got a lot of attention from the designers: 4 modules set there + CotSQ also starts there!?! I guess I will use 1368 as starting year for the campaign. Bocklin PS: I do not know "Under Illefarn". Is it any good?
