| Aulnil01-22-06, 12:52 PM | I've been thinking awhile about bringing a large contingent of Draconians from Krynn over to Faerun, actually more specifically gating them in to The Ride, north of the Moonsea. I wanted some feedback on the matter, pertaining to their affects on the surrounding lands and what they'd do in general. The reason they'd be coming over was survival. Their attitudes have changed much after the War of the Lance and they've come to realize they face extinction, since they can't procreate. I know this is a little left field, but any feedback is much accepted. |

How the ppl in the surrounding area respond to them will depend on how lucky they are. if say they make contact with Harpers or saurials first them should be alrite. But if the Zhents got ahold of them first them they end as slaves. Anyone else will treat them cautiously, most likely mistaken them for sauriels who live in the lost vale. |

Draconians can procreate. Kang and his regiment discovered a patch of female draconian eggs during the Chaos War and they've founded a draconian nation named Teyr. Ravenmantle |

| Mr.Sinister01-22-06, 06:49 PM | Aulnil, are you thinking of a couple hundreds Draconians, or several thousands? I think a couple hundreds Draconians keeping to themselves could go a long way without even being discovered in The Ride. Depends on their attitude/goals. I think they would not take unecessary risks, and keep low profile, but if bent on conquest, would ally with lesser humanoid races (goblins, kobolds) through intimidation or persuasion and use them for mass combat/canon fodder. The Chaos War Series of novels mentionned by Ravenmantle go along the same line of thoughts, interesting read for your plotline if you have some time, or perhaps were you inspired by those novels? They are Vapor, Lightning, Flame, Frost and Venom. These good aligned draconians are featured in the Bestiary of Krynn. Ravenmantle |
| Aulnil01-23-06, 08:48 AM | Actually, I was thinking a couple hundred, but I guess I'm also a little behind on my Krynn lore. I was interested in the Chaos War, but never got around to reading them. I suppose those books do pretty much develop the entire basis for them coming in the first place; looks like I have some reading to do. Apprec. the direction. |
