carhesl 06-17-03, 06:09 PM	Please someone tell me. Is the +2 Defender in the FRCS actually supposed to be a +5 Defender? Or was the +5 reduced to +2 because of the feat '2 sword style'? Please only respond with what is known and not opinion. Thank you.
Telagaunt 06-17-03, 06:42 PM	First of all, what's the Twin Sword Style feat have to do with any of it? Second, the errata I have for the FRCS does not have any mention of Drizzt's Defender not being +2 and being +5. They changed it on purpose, why? Maybe to weaken him :shrugs:
primemover003 06-17-03, 08:56 PM	The change in power of the weapon follows the Treasure per Level tables in the DMG. Unless otherwise stated, the NPC's in all the books have approximately the average value of equipment for their level.

I think the whole Treasure charts and stuff is stupid because your DM can always allow you to just find some powerful item (happens all the times in novels too).
optimus prime 06-18-03, 05:11 PM	I certainly hope they don't follow the treasure tables when they make Jarlaxle. He'll have his items cut down or his level upgraded to compensate.
cwslyclgh 06-18-03, 05:18 PM	personaly I would have given the "big name" NPC's equipment valued at the PC level rather then the NPC level... since they are truly more like the author's PC's then like standard setting NPC's
