I have searched and found a number of drow dictionaries and laguage translators but none have a pronounciation key that is easy to understand. This one guy had one in his Drow dictionary, but he says things like the "ch" sound is a "voiceless alveolar-slit affricative (/tS/)" :uh-huh:

Does anyone know of a drow dictionary with an easy pronounciation guide that is easy to understand or how to get R. A. Salvatore or Gary Gynax to explain some of the ponetics?

The phonemes mostly have the same value as in English, and apostrophes signify glottal stops. I think a voiceless alveolar-slit affricative is the ordinary ch sound of choose (I think that's correct for ch but it's not from an official source). Not absolutely certain on the pronunication of ae or au.

The core of the drow dictionaries on the web is the language chapter of FOR2 The Drow of the Underdark (and most of the words are by Ed Greenwood, not Gygax or Salvatore). What we don't know is the stress patterns of drow sentences.

Easy enough, just have your favorite person strap you face down on a table and beat you mercilessly while you recite all those catchy phrases from DotU.

I think it should be a fairly intuitive process.

I've always thought that Drow pronounceations should be similar to Welsh, seeing as Elven is based off of Welsh

If you can. the ae sounds like ay from what I have been told, but then the word wael is pronounced why - EL. so, I guess it depends on the surrounding constanants or something. If you can get Ed Greenwood to explain this cool language to us, I would be indebted to you, Jabugkt.
