06-27-03, 06:06 PM Can someone tell me the order of the Menzoberranzan Great Houses and lesser houses up until the War of the Spider Queen novel Condemnation?

Daughter of the Drow lists most if not all of them (Great Houses) but the book was written in what? 1995? So, things can change..

In Siege of Darkness, during the Time of Troubles, right before Menzoberranzan attacked Mithral Hall, House Oblodra was destroyed for blasphemeing Lolth. They were the 3rd House, until they were destroyed. Matron Baenre summoned a giant tentacle from the Clawrift, which swept the entire Oblodra compound into the rift, killing all the members of the familiy. Its possible a few survived, but its assumed that the entire Oblodra clan was killed.

There are some ghostly survivors of House Oblodra in the Clawrift, killing whatever crawls there. One other survivor is the psion (not class, he just uses psionics) Kimmuriel Oblodra who served under Jarlaxe in the famed mercenary band until Jarlaxle relinquished the post and Kimmuriel took over at the end of "Servant of the Shard".

06-28-03, 12:04 PM No, I was refering to House Coloara. I believe they are a minor house. I have the name of their weapons master. His name is Rizzen Coloara. That is about all I can remember about them. That is why I want to know.

After the events of the novel Windwalker, it is highly likely that one of the ruling houses will soon fall, and house Hunzrin will take its place.

...Matron Baenre had their Matron Mother killed by a Glabrezu during the attack on Mithral Hall because she had thoughts of deserting. This is only an implication because in The Thousand Orcs, one of those 4 drow masterminds was from "the ruined House Barrison Del'Armgo".

06-29-03, 12:05 AM Nope. They still are around during the War of the Spider Queen series. Mez'barris is mentioned in Condemnation and Dissolution. However, I don't think the Barrison Del'Armgo matron was killed during the attack in Mithral Hall. I just flipped through Siege of Darkness, and all I found who died were Quenthel Baenre, Matron Baenre, Auro'pol Dyrr (Matron Mother of Agrach-Dyrr). It mentions Zeerith Q'Xorlarrin returning to Menzoberranzan, but it does not mention Mez'barris being killed.

It was actually Auro'pol who was killed by the Glabrezu by Matron Baenre in the tunnels. (Page 309 in Siege of Darkness)

If she was killed in the attack on Menzoberranzan, she's alive again, cause she is mentioned in the War of the Spider Queen.

As for House Coloara, I've never heard of it. What books/novels/sources is it mentioned? It could be quite possible that it is simply fan-fiction. There are dozens of lesser houses which are never mentioned among the major players in Menzoberranzan (The current top 17 houses). It is also quite possible that this house is a Nasadran house, or a house from a different drow city. Let me look over the map of Menzoberranzan, from the boxed set, to see if I can find any mention of them exisiting within the City. However, there would be no way for anyone to know their current standing. So, just place them wherever you feel they would be, after the top 17.
