07-07-03, 07:40 AM I've always heard of drow weapons which get destroyed in sunlight, altough I've never seen any rules or stats for it and how it works.. anyone?

In the Monster Manual the Kuo-toas worship Blipdoolpoolp, but in the City of the spider Queen they worship Umberlee. Are they the same person or what?

WOTC got rid of the whole drow weapons disintergrating in sunlight when they brought out 3ed

The game mechanic reason for this was that players who killed drow couldnt use there weapons thus disadvantaging the PCs (this reason is some what stupid because a Balors weapon still disappears when it dies)

For Realms flavour reason why Drow magic item arent destroyed in daylight you'll need to read Windwalker by Elaine Cunningham

07-07-03, 08:19 AM As was already said, Drow items are no longer destroyed by sunlight. This held true for AD&D and you can find the reasons in the AD&D Core (MM) and Sourcebooks (e.g., The Drow of the Underdark)

Drow magic items did not became useless on the surface, unless they were made from the then material "adamantite" (an alloy of adamatine).

These days, the material is adamantine only and the drow will use this as well as mithral instead of their former quasi-magic stuff. Furthermore, all Drow are considered to be about one level above the average surfacer with regards to equipment and experience. Most items the common Drow warrior or fighter wields will be of masterwork quality, becoming either made of adamantine/mithral and magical or both later on. (At least that's my assumption and "house" rule.)

You may look into Lords of Darkness for a few more points on this topic.

Umberlee & Blipdoolpoolp are not the same deity

The FR pantheons have been streamlined a bit in order to keep things a bit simple.

The Realms already have a ton of deities. Adding all of the Demihuman & Humanoid dieities would have made things worse.

07-07-03, 11:52 AM Blipdoolpoolp is the "racial" deity of the Kuo-Toa, however this does not preclude Kuo-Toa from worshipping other gods as they wish - kind of like not all elves must worship Corellon Larethian or all gnomes must worship Garl Glittergold.

That's what I think anyway.

09-14-06, 03:09 PM Hard to tell. It is even hard to say what the normal drow "commoner" looks like level-wise. You see, drow are a "monster race" created to cause PC trouble. Their level depends on the strength of the group, P&P-game-wise. If you go by the books, most drow of the house armies will be beyond 2nd level in a character class, a lot above 5th, some about 10th and not that many about 15th. You have to differentiate between Underdark drow and those of the surface as well though.

IMHO, there will be hardly any members of NPC classes bar aristocrats, adepts, experts, and warriors. Most of them will be experts.

-Anyway, asides for what Zanan said, check one of the Drow books (Menzoberranzan, Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark, Drow of the Underdark, Underdark). If I am not mistaken, at least one of them talks about the average level of house soldiers, or some such.
