| Dargoth08-31-03, 09:11 PM | *The following is based on hear say and conjecture, Dungeon 103 isnt avalaible in Oz yet* According to posts on various message boards on the web the new FR module Forest of Blood makes mention of a chosen of Malar although Malars chosen doesnt put in an appearance in Forest of Blood. So some questions Is forest of Blood going to be the first in a series of modules dealing with Malar and the people of the Black Blood or is it going to be a stand alone module? Does the module tie in with the People of the Black Blood encampment found in the Silver Marches source Book? Also are there any FR modules in Dungeon 104? |
| Dargoth09-02-03, 05:37 AM | bump! |
| SacredOne09-02-03, 08:13 AM | Dargoth, I've got Dungeon #103 in front of me. It seems to be a stand alone adventure, with a large potential for future adventures (the Chosen of Malar is not explicitly detailed in the adventure and so can be a source of future antagonism). Although it does tie in with the People of the Black Blood located within the Moonwood, the encampment from the Lords of Darkness sourcebook does not feature (although it may be able to be worked into future adventures based on this one. Dungeon #104 has a large adventure that continues the Adventure Path (the city of Cauldron IIRC). Personally, I'm a little shocked the Sydney didn't get stuff before Brisbane... |

| SacredOne09-03-03, 09:04 AM | Cauldron isn't in FR, it is just the only adventure that I have any details for. Apologies for the confusion. I don't have a subscription either... although I wish I could get one. They have extra adventures for those that are  . BUT, That is stopping, as of #104 because of all the negative feedback they got because of the subscriber only benifits. So, that is good. |
| Dargoth09-03-03, 09:12 AM | There hasnt been enough FR content to justify a Dungeon subscription as far as Im concerned. While recently theres been a few Woe to Mistdale, Prison of the Flamebringer the next module is in Dungeon 92 which came out in Sept/Oct 2002 |

That's great news for us who are only interested in picking up the issues with FR material. |

| Wil_Upchurch09-12-03, 02:53 AM | Hey guys, Wil Upchurch here. Originally posted by Dargoth According to posts on various message boards on the web the new FR module Forest of Blood makes mention of a chosen of Malar although Malars chosen doesnt put in an appearance in Forest of Blood. The Chosen of Malar mentioned is Anth-Malar, a creation of Scott Stoecker related to the shrine of Malar he created for Project: Silverymoon. Originally posted by Dargoth So some questions Is forest of Blood going to be the first in a series of modules dealing with Malar and the people of the Black Blood or is it going to be a stand alone module? It was written as a standalone, but hopefully with enough plot continuity to allow for future adventures, and even a campaign. Originally posted by Dargoth Does the module tie in with the People of the Black Blood encampment found in the Silver Marches source Book? It doesn't tie into it directly, but there is no reason that any clues traced from Remus, the wereboar in the module, can't lead back to this encampment. |
| Dargoth09-15-03, 06:37 AM | Thanks! Do you have anymore FR modules in Dungeon in the works? |
| Wil_Upchurch09-15-03, 08:49 AM | Nope, I don't have anything in the works, although I wouldn't be averse to putting together a sequel to Forest of Blood. I love that area of Faerun, of course. ;) |
| Dargoth09-15-03, 08:54 AM | Something I posted in Rich Bs thread "Im actually thinking of a Silver MArshes campaign Im thinking of repalcing Cult of Bazim Gorag in Prison of the Flamebringer with Followers of Malar. Malars followers offer to release the Sladd lord if the Slaad Lord will raze the cities of the Silver MArches when hes released" |
| Laszlo Koller10-20-03, 06:46 PM | I know this as older thread, but... Wil--Could help clarify something for me regarding the "Forest of Blood" adventure in Dungeon #103? In the adventure, you mention that Laednon is a small forest northeast of the Moonwood. As far as I can tell this is a your creation, which is great as far as I'm concerned. However, as an owner of the Silver Marches game accessory, I was wondering if you could, even if only roughly, put this forest (and the corresponding small town of Berlingford) on the map for me? Thanks. And keep up the great work. PS. I enjoy your work and would love to see you write something regarding the Shades (perhaps in the narrow region between the High Forest and the Anauroch) with a tie-in to Richard Baker's "Prison of the Flamebringer" from Dungeon #101. (I guess I'm starting to like the Slaadi more and more...) Anyway, thanks for answering our questions. |

Sure, I've actually hashed this out in private email with another interested fellow. Putting the forest northeast of the Moonwood really takes it out of habitable area, certainly anywhere there would be a non-Uthgardt town the size and vibrancy of Berlingford. So, I suggest moving it south around 60 miles to where that track shown on the main map moves northeast through the Moonlands. Then use the River Redrun as the river in the module. Hope you enjoy it and I'd love to hear about your adventures in the Forest of Blood. :) |
