| Trog02-04-04, 06:40 PM | Need some help/opinions with the following scenario... I've just finished running the CotSQ module, twice actually. The original party didn't make it, lost out early on the travels to Maermydra and was either destroyed or fled into the Underdark. The second party consisted of residents of the dales. Specifically Battledale and Tasseldale. Mind you this is a party that I DM'd a long time ago, that kind of retired themselves to administer to their holdings in those areas. The CotSQ plot line advanced with the undead horde emerging from underneath Haptooth hill and depopulating the areas of Battledale, Tasseldale and Featherdale before being destroyed in Archendale. The party enters Haptooth hill and heads to Maermydra ahead of whats left of the army and makes it to the Undying temple and after "finally" figuring it out, destroys the Undying temple They then retreat back into whats left of the their areas, ie. Battledale( where Ilmeth was slain ) and Tasseldale. Now Blackfeather bridge was destroyed as was Essembra. To further complicate matters. Scyllua Darkhope has claimed soverienty (sp?) over Scardale as Lashans illegitamate daughter. So, now the Zhents control Scardale. The party then starts trying to recruit people from the surrounding areas to repopulate the area, they rebuild the bridge at Blackfeather bridge and begin reconstructing the walls of Essembra. They also call an Emergency Dales Council to meet at Blackfeather Bridge to discuss the future of the dales that were depopulated. Milkos Selkirk and a group of 40 Silver Ravens shows up in Blackfeather Bridge to offer his "assistance" as well as his cousin, Mirabetta from Ordulin who has her own opinion of what needs to happen to the area. My question is this. What stance do you all feel the members of the dales council will take on this matter. The time frame is late Ches, 1373 DR. Thanks in advance for your ideas and assistance. |

The exception would probably be Archendale which is the most like-minded dale as far as things go, though Archendale doesn't trust Sembia either, that is the reason for their strong military. I'd say a general decline to accept the offer would be heard all around. Dalesfolk are hardy, and they don't tend to rely on others when things look bleak. |

It's feasable for Scarsdale sending a Zent emesary to the Council, at least to offer words encurageing the regection of Sembian aid, and to offer the aid of Scarsdale's new benifactors (which is expected to be rejected, but cant blame them for trying). |
